Bika is dirty as hell for sure, but I think it's mostly because he's so committed that he throws even the kitchen sink at his opponent with complete abandon, rather than because he's nasty like Derry Matthews, for example. He doesn't seem to plan his lowblows the way Cotto would either, for example. Also, the ref's are onto him big time. Against Bute, for example, Bika leaned his head against Bute's and pushed a bit (no chance of doing any damage whatsoever), and he had a point taken off...there was even a moment when Bute accidentally hit him with his head, Bika complained, and the ref did nothing, not even a warning...:huh
Sure, I'm all for that! But Bute/Interbox might not want Bute to use up Tyspko in a voluntary defence if they can use him as a mandatory defence...Saying that...they might be forced to by the Sauerland agreement they've made...:think Bute should be able to fight three times a year...so why not Larsen, Tsypko and then the mandatory challenger (Bika v. Andrade winner)? Or...instead...Tsypko, someone else (Green??) and then the mandatory challenger?:think Bute has a lot to prove and he needs to make some hard big fights again, I think. Great fight for Sakio yesterday, now he should take Andrade or the winner of Froch - Pascal. In any case, give him tougher opponents and measure where he stands. To me, he's right up there in the top 5 SMW. Anyone in this mix will be very entertaining.
Personally, I think he should take on Miranda for exposure, he would easily win against a Miranda that has lost confidence since his second fight to Abraham. After that, he could take on Andrade but it should be at least a fight to be the mandatory to Bute. Those could be two great fights!
He's not as bad as he used to be. I tend to think that a lot of his early problems with dirt had to do with being a crude boxer; as he's become (relatively) more refined, this has become less of a problem.
Miranda is too crude but it could sell well on an HBO undercard. I hope Bika and my man Librado Andrade get it on soon. What a war that would be! The winner of Froch vs. Pascal and the loser of Taylor vs. Lacy are great options too.
Sure would like to see me Bika against Green but Miranda, Andrade, Lacy, Froch are all even better fights for Bika.
Hopkins-Bika would be like two rams in the wilderness except with more headbutting and the addition of throwing elbows. Bika-Froch/Pascal would be an intriguing sort of fight.
