Cotto is the more accomplished fighter with the better wins under his belt. So Cotto it is, PW is not even a 147lbs'er anymore so let's not compare the two. And fyi, I think Cotto would outbox him.
He almost did. You cannot say that Williams would beat Margarito everytime, because the fact is that it was a very close fight. So to answer your question: It is very possible that Williams would lose to a fighter like Margarito.
Williams all the way around ... he punches good with both hands ... he throws straight punches ... he has good head/shoulder and foot movement ... he has good power and deceptive speed. Don't forget the chin either !! Cotto is a one handed fighter w/ power only in his left and he fights out of the orthodox stance. Cotto's chin is suspect ... his movements are suspect ...
