    This is quite off-base.
    Yes, it was Wlad at the time that was considered the "the next great heavyweight". After Grant was blown out...Wlad was being hyped to overthrow Lewis. Vitali was embarrassed after the Byrd fight and was rebuilding his career and reputation (in HBO's eyes anyways...)

    Wlad-Lewis was going to happen except for the Corrie Sanders shocker.

    Probably worked out the best for Wlad. (and Vitali)

    I suggest you rewatch Vitali-Sanders and Vitali-Gomez fights.
