Who's fault is it that opkins vs Jones 2 didn't happen

It didn't backfire, Hopkins went on to make more money fighting Hoya. Now he's an exec at Golden Boy and continues to fight top competition. Meanwhile, Roy has had his rep tarnished after getting bruttally stopped by two guys that Nard handled with ease. He had a decent scrap against another guy that Nard destroyed and now he's fighting yet another former Hopkins' opponent.

 

Roy fans have been repeating the same nonsense this entire thread; bringing up fights that happened a decade ago, and failing to recognize Roy's lack of drawing power and diminishing popularity.

 

Your right and also cashed out in those loses, plus made $15 mil against Tito. Then he will probably cash out big time against Calzaghe :good While Hop is continues to lose to all the best oppents he has fought and Pav will be no different imo. While Jones has a better chance of beating Calzaghe

Sorry, he didn't make $15 mill against Tito. King promoted that fight. The ticket sales weren't good. The ppv numbers were good, but you can bet Tito got his $14 or $15 mill. There wasn't enough left over for Roy to get that much. I can guarentee he's still fighting King for unpaid wages from that fight.

Hopkins is 43 years old. Despite this, he still beat Tarver(a guy who waxed Jones twice), and Winky past the age of 40. He was close to beating Clazaghe. Let's not forget he was the underdog in all of those fights.

Sure he does. He let completely shot Tito win 4 rounds off of him. And he went 12 with Hanshaw(a guy Dirrell destroyed). Who has Roy beat in the last 3 years?

 

He did make that kind of money and he even stated that. He only wanted PPV sales, not ticket sells.

Jones won that 1st fight with Tarver and both acted scary in the third

Ray Charles was dead when that fight happened. Anyway, guess what else Roy said? He said he should retire if he didn't stop Tito within 4. You believe everything Roy says, yet you believe he carried Tito despite saying this?

The fight is in Oct. Regardless, Hopkins is pushing 44 and is clearly past it. At 34, Roy was getting his brains scrambled and all his fans were making excuses left and right.

I love the way Jones is "back" since he has beat that horrible Prince guy, Hanshaw, and Cheato Trinidad who is the naturally smaller man and who had a belly at 168 against Roy. Mark my words as soon as Roy fights another puncher that is not a former Welterweight he will get his China Chin knocked out cold.

BTW, when is Roy going to avenge that loss to Glen Johnson?

That's not true. Hopkins doesn't even live in Philly anymore(at least his primary residence isn't here). I would be a fan of his regardless. I'm a Roy fan as well. I just call it like I see it.
