How the **** was Nard a legit threat? He already beat him before, plus have you seen the way Hop fights against stars besides Hoya and Tito who were blown up fighters at that weight. Hop is probably the only fighter who is a disgrace to PPV tv. Everytime he fights someone has something to sy about it, mainly because it's a boring fight.

Exactly, as of right now, 53% of the ESB voters say its Hopkins' fault.

Your right and probably the ones that are saying it's equal are only saying it because of the ego's to negotiate

Smoochp, that fight had happened almost a decade earlier. Fighters have tendency to improve. Hopkins was a much better fighter than at that point. You're crazy if you don't think he posed a legit threat. Then again, most Roy fans think he's completey invincible.

I've seen plenty of Hopkins' fights. Most of them weren't boring. Included in those fights were two where he dismantled guys that knocked Roy out cold.

I have to and the ones against C+ OR b- fighters were great. But against Winky, Eastman, Allen x3 Hoya, Jermain, Calzaghe, Jones, and Tarver until later on in the fight were all boring. He looked great against Tito, Joppy, and Johnson, I will give you that. To me he shouldn't be a PPV fighter

if bhop really wanted revenge he should have jumped at the chance of a 60/40 to get it.

Thank you and if he was so confident he would win, beat him and setup a trilogy. Thats called being a smart business. You have people like me making $16.00 a hour struggling with bills. But Hop is crying over millions

By that logic, every fighter should accept the first offer that comes their way.

    Big Reg: You lost.
Im not arguing this anymore but i am here to tell you to PLEASE end this bull**** and lets close the thread for good.

Listen, I still have much respect for your knowledge level of the sport but c'mon. By now you should clearly see that you're in the minority here in thinking that this was not Hopkins' fault.

I am done. For real this time...

Hopkins played himself plain and simple. He needed Jones and you know it. Jones was looking to make history at Heavy an ultimate goal. Lie I said earlier Hop was trying to be independent and make his own rules. Guess what it backfired. If he was with GBP HE WOULD HAVE SIGNED FOR THAT FIGHT

I'm in the minority because there are a lot of Roy fans on this board. Roy never attempted to enter any serious negotiations with Hopkins, he never would even entertain a counter offer. Roy's fights were doing **** numbers at the time, as fans were sick of him fighting cops and other overmatched chumps that stood no chance. People are only agreeing with the 60/40 number because Roy threw that figure out. Their previous fight was irrelevant due to how much time had passed since it occured and how much each fighter had changed during that time. Roy's p4p status wasn't all that important due to the fact that it wasn't translating into him putting up good numbers. These guys needed eachother. 50/50 would've been fair. 55/45 would've also been acceptable. Roy fans refuse to acknowlege these circumstances. They are still blinded by their guy, and won't listen to reason.
