    They likely both used PEDs. Ward used to work with Victor Conte.

    But Ward was a boxer who always resorted to illegal, dirty tactics in the ring, grappling like an octopus to compensate for his lack of natural boxing ability. Canelo scored impressive knockouts, without resorting to illegal low blows and nasty head butts.

    Canelo Alvarez (a naturally smaller man who used to fight at welterweight) is clearly the greater fighter.

    Ward was better but Canelo accomplished more.

    Clenelo might have had the judges in his pocket a lot of the time but he never refused to allow judges from neutral countries to be appointed for one of his fights like the supposed holier than thou serial cheat devout Christian Dre did.

    Dre: ''Gimmie a shot at all three of your belts in my country with a home ref and three home judges, Sergey?

    Kovalev: ''OK''

    The three home judges rob Kovalev blind of all his world titles and gift them to Dre

    The entire boxing world is in agreement that it was a scandalous robbery

    Team Kovalev puts in a request for neutral judges or at least one or two neutral judges for the rematch, which is again in Dre's country, because they quite understandably want a fair shake or fairer shake this time after getting robbed of all his belts in the first fight

    Dre: '' No way!''

    The ref and all three judges are from the US for the rematch and the ref decides to wave the fight off after a clear foul when the correct course of action is to give the recipient of the foul five minutes to recover. Had the shoe been on the other foot there's no way in hell the ref would've waved it off. Dre would've been given five minutes to recover and Kovalev would've been issued a warning or had a point deducted

    Thanks. Most of the fighters I rag on I don't actually dislike or I'm indifferent to but I genuinely dislike that droopy-eyed licky lip creep

    Did Ward EVER fight outside of the US as a pro. I'm darned if I can remember one. Just a cheating Prima Donna coward

    I agree both Ward & Ref Tony Weekes should have been investigated there. Ward & the system robbed Kovalev TWICE!!
    But..... Who would be investigating if they did ??? Nuff Said

    What can you say about a guy who seldom fought, took long periods off, and retired early? His career should receive a grade of incomplete.
