If I was Holyfield's barrister here, I would probably ask the question: "What happens if we factor in both his cruiserweight and heavyweight wins, since that is the yard stick that the old timers are measured against?"

Larry Bird was a better trash-talker than any boxer who ever lived.

Holy never fought Vitali, Weaver, Ruddock, Tua, Grant, Briggs, Golota, McCall, Morrison, Tucker Butler, Bruno, Mason... all bombers if nothing else.

Lennox never fought Moorer (kinda dangerous at heavy?), Bowe (did he really hit that hard?), Douglas (one night wonder)...

I´m okay with Holmes... but IMO it is Foreman, H2H beast, I know his older version is contested and I understand but I find that second career a incredible thing... The way he destroyed Frazier should be counted highly...

I'm going to say Holmes, but I am perfectly fine with Holyfield.

I'll just say it: If Bowe-Holyfield I had gone 15 rounds, old Holyfield would have knocked him out..for sure

    He only trash-talked umpires, haha.

My favorite McEnroe moment: Bjorn Borg was the Swedish iceman, almost a robot. Never, ever got flustered, which I think bothered Mac because he could get inside anyone else’s head and would really upset them and throw off their games with his antics.

So they’re playing in the U.S. Open. Borg hits a shot and the ump rules it out, so point for John. McEnroe goes NUTS. He rants and screams at the ump. Goes and scratches out a circle around a ball mark on the line and says ‘That was IN.’ Real tantrum. Gets a conduct warning and acts like he’s going to refuse to continue if they don’t overrule the call.

Borg just kind of sits back and laughs, like ‘what an idiot, he’s arguing to give me the call.’ Finally McEnroe settles back to play. Borg serves and McEnroe strokes it as high and hard as he can up into the stands to give the point back and just glares at the ump.

I swear, Borg fell apart after that. It just unnerved him that this guy who was such a baby over every call that didn’t go his way would argue just as hard to give away a point.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant and I’m certain he did it on purpose just to mess with Bjorn’s head.

You meant just punchers faced? Why leave out a bunch of guys on Holys record? in terms of iron I don’t think at HW anyone faced tougher competition than Holyfield… went thorough a real murderers row. Also just on the topic of “power” McCall said Douglas hit him hardest, Bowe according to Holy was the 2nd hardest puncher he faced (above Lewis) and Moorer… meh?

Is that the one that sent Borg into retirement?
