Kessler fought Calzaghe when he was ready. Is Bute ready for Kessler? Not on the basis of his last couple of performances. It would be a good fight, but I think it would be an even better fight in a year or a year and a half, if Bute improves. After all, it's not like Kessler needs to beat Bute to be recognised as the best 168 lbs currently, like Calzaghe needed to beat Kessler and Kessler needed to beat Calzaghe. 95% of objective, knowledgeable boxing fans think Kessler is better and would beat Bute. So...there's no debate, really. Sayin this, I'd like to see Kessler fight either Taylor or Bute asap too...it would be a better fight than most others involving these three fighters.

Both guys have been fighting for at least 15 years, they wont change that much, when you say Bute have to be ready, is he ready for Taylor then?????was he ready for Andrade????? do we all have to wait until Bute feels he's ready ?????
Come on he call himself champion, then he should act like one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bute said he was ready to face anyone, recently. As soon as the interest, hype and money is there for a fight against Kessler, he'll fight him. However, these days, more people seem to be interested in seeing Kessler fight either Taylor or Dawson or Hopkins, not Bute...most people also want to see Bute fight Taylor or rematch Andrade before fighting Kessler too...

...You know how this works...it's a business...when the demand for this fight is big enough, it happens, whether Bute is ready or not.

I understand that you really can't wait for this fight. Me too. But be fair, who did Kessler face at his 24th bout? Bute faced much more tough opponents so far than Kessler after 23 fights. Why wasn't he ready for tougher opponents?
Anyway, as Decebal says, it's not time in a business point of view. But if bute fights Taylor and rematch Andrade, maybe another big fight (Abraham, for example), if Kessler faces Dawson or Hopkins and his next mandatory, then all would be set for a megafight.

    kessler

    Taylor

    andrade

    Bute..

Don't think we should dream to much of the MK/Bute fight, because Bute has got som unfinished business with andrade..... So... MK vs Taylor would be clearly the best fight to watch.... Don't see MK stopping Bute (he has a good chin) but Bute wouldn't get more than 1 or 2 round... Mk vs Taylor.... It could also be nice to watch MK vs Andrade II -- maybe after Andrade has knocked down Bute again, in a rematch and has a belt to set on the line..

They should change the title of this thread to The Official Kessler Express.

Bute is the best 168 lbs right now. He is just a better boxer than Kessler.

Trust me, I know that Kessler is in a class of his own, but so Bute is. If the two would fight in the near future, I wouldn't mind putting my money on Bute. Remember that when the fight will take place, I won't shy away from any bidder. :smooch

he doesn't need bute? does he need to even fight or??? how is kessler so good that there is no debate whether he is the best...cuz he beat Beyer and Mundine?? he lost clearly to JC he beat andrade which i am quite sure JT and dirrell could do and bute has done...is kessler great yes...but he is FAR from the clear cut top guy until he beats these guys
