    I'm thinking Khan for the following reasons;

Marg is a quality operator, no shame in a loss for Cotto there.
Pavlik's was at a higher weight than normal and against a Hopkins who had a close fight with the P4P number 2.
De La Hoya's will be explained away with age and if we're being honest, the only fight left for him after Pac was Hatton so he did not have a lot of a future to damage.
Lee wasnt as high profile in the first place.
    As above for Williams.
    As above for Powell.
    Cintron as per Cotto.

For Khan however, this was a high profile prospect who already had his doubters and was brutally knocked out within a minute. It'll take a long time for him to earn back the respect of the fans after that one.

DLH been losing for years, so not his career,,,,I got to say khan, he lost how most experts perdicted, to a heavy puncher, he will need years to bring back the press he had before this fight, an hype, an now every heavy puncher got a chance,,,,lot of skills, no chin, so maybe he really never had a career

I went with Lee, no Mr. irrelevent. He was Manny S.'s #1 and going to be the next big thing, right on the cusp, and he looked like crap against a journeyman. His talent is very questionable after that nightmare. Now what's he doing? He has a lot of work to do to get close to where he was hyped before.

Pavlik still has his title @ 160, and all will be forgotten if he takes care of his belt.

Cotto's still in the mix and lost in a great fight, although he got handed a solid beat down the last few rounds. People still believe in him and will pay.

DLH's allready old and loses all the time.

Kahn is still getting fights and can maybe shore up his defense. He's one more KO from becoming irrelevent.

I never considered Cotto to be a Floyd Mayweather beater. I'm sure Cotto himself never considered himself a Floyd Mayweather beater, especially when he was watching Floyd beating the hell out of Arturo Gatti ringside. Cotto looked like he was trying to keep a straight face watching the beating. I think he has more of an advantage at 147 though, but in those JW days, noone thought he had a chance against Money.

I don't think Lee's loss was that damaging from a career standpoint, even if it derailed his hype train- he should be able to genuinely improve his game relatively under the radar for awhile, and that'll be good for him since I doubt he'll ever fall in love his own press clippings again...Also, it's usually easier to rebound from losing on the way up and improving than to get blown out in a title fight, strange as that might sound.

    COTTO.
he would have been crowned no1 in floyds absence if he'd won.i dont beleave that he has lost any of the fans respect for that loss. margarito is a machine!!

I voted Citron. I think he is going to have a really hard time getting big fights and big pay days.

Oscar was already old and on the way out.

    Lee was just a prospect.

Pavlik is a middleweight who fought while sick and injured, and lost to the #2 LHW.

Cotto lost to a beast in a FOTY candidate.

Cotto, Pavlik, and Lee can string together some good wins and all will be forgiven. Cintron might have a rough road ahead of him.

I of course voted ODLH. Why are so many saying Pavlik? He moved up 10 pounds to fight a living legend and a top tier fighter and he was out pointed, no big deal, he even still has his belts. He beats Rubio easily then sets up a MW unification fight, it has barely affected his career at all. Cotto was beaten into submission, lost his belts and is coming back against an extremely soft opponent and almost no one votes for him?

I'm surprised that Khan and Pavlik's losses were rated so highly here. I doubt if Pavlik will see his stock suffer because he can just go back to middleweight where he has 3 of the main belts including the Ring magazine belt. And Khan, well, we'll just have to wait and see, but honestly can't say it's close to as damaging as Oscar's.

Cotto's loss affected his career a lot. A lot of boxing writers and the boxing public really jumped off the badwagon after the Margarito fight, and realized just how big a threat Margarito was, instead of writing him off consistently like they had for some reason. I personally thought that it didn't really change much about my opinion about Cotto because I had him definitely losing that fight, and was surprised that he did as well as he did even, and I ranked him after Williams, Margarito, and Berto.

People forget just how bloodied and beaten up he was in that fight. It was actually worse than Oscar's beatdown when you go back and look at it, and consider that people where trying to position him as the next Trinidad. It's different for fighters like Trinidad, Cotto, Pacquiao. They are fighting for their country (whether they like it or not because I've always seen that Cotto is a bit reserved about committing to a love for fighting for his country, unlike Trinidad or Pacquiao), and losses for them mean a lot more, especially when they're not just beaten, but beaten into submission like Cotto was, falling to a knee. Oscar loses, and his fans are disheartened, yes, but it's not like most sensible people didn't already know that he was an aging fighter. Oscar's career was definitely ended by Pacquiao though, I'll give you that but how many fights did he really have left. Cotto had a lot more years in his career, so the manner in which he lost really hurt his career.

Of those listed, I will go with Cotto. Oscar really doesn't lose much with his loss. Pavlik was just schooled by an ATG in a higher weight class... Cintron was beat the same way... but really didn't have the hype and future that Cotto was supposed to have. Cotto on the other hand had a serious mystic with him, and was becoming a serious major attraction. He had shown vulnerablity in the past, but that made his other fights exciting, and people thought that he was over that. Margo really beat him in a horrible way... right in the middle of his prime. Now, personally... I don't think that Cotto is any worse of a fighter because of that lose. I already knew that he was somewhat vulnerable, but I STILL think that makes him a fun fighter to watch, and I still think that he is a top notch talent. The problem is that the general boxing public is fickle. They are FAST to write a fighter off.

It's rare that I agree with someone so completely. It's like you were in my head all these years while I was watching Cotto grow as a fighter. I hope you haven't watched Being John Malkovitch and figured out how to watch things through a window in my mind. Very eerie, for a second I was wondering if I wrote your post and had to double check the name :)
