No chance, Guzman was throwing some clean shots in the early (and later rounds) but Funeka landed more, bossed the pace, and landed the harder shots throughout.

PowerPuncher is a terribly biased poster who always goes on bias, so god knows why he's telling others not to be biased. :deal

I was originally outraged by the scoring, due to my bad stream.

On a decent recording the next day, I saw how much glove Funeka actually managed to hit.

Though Guzman only edged very close rounds and Funeka did actually hammer Guzman in a couple good and proper.

The short sweet right hand Funeka landed on Guzman in the 8th round was devastating. Guzman really took it well, but he clearly lost the fight imo.

Basically, PowerPuncher LOVES Floyd so will defend ANYONE with his style.

I've been a loud Guzman supporter for years but he lost that EASILY. MASSIVE ROBBERY :deal

Look at round 4 for example.

Guzman took that one, Funeka was more active in the last minute, but he didn't land the number of clean punches Guzman did in the first 2 minutes. His flurry near the very end of that round moves Guzman back, without actually hitting him once.

Guzman defnitely won 1,2 3, 12 and 4 if you aren't easily influenced by fighters trying to steal the round in the last 30 seconds (Hopkins style).

Then it becomes subjective, some people will and some people won't give Guzman one of the other rounds depending on what they like.

Guzman definitely didn't win, but I believe he got a lucky but deserved draw, due to the scoring system.

Guzamn and Kessler the two mythical ESB Monsters that don't fight but can beat anybody were finally and logically beaten. Now the people that were proclaiming them ATG must find some excuses :)

    This thread :-(

Deplorable. It's bad enough for that to happen but for some boxing FANS to defend it is a disgrace.

Funeka didn't land a clean punch until round 5.

Guzman's defence was sublime, it is a shame he is such a **** up.

PP, nobody's a fiercer advocate for "scoring fights on a round by round basis without prejudice for the dominance of rounds won by one party in relation to those won by another" than me. I also rode the Guzman bandwagon with my belt fastened and my optimism shades on for a long time.

Giving Guzman two to three rounds is reasonable. Four is generous (as in, borderline disingenuous). Six is ridiculous.

That has nothing to do with the influence of the HBO team. Nothing to do with how Guzman's face looked. Nothing to do with the fact that Funeka won all of his clear rounds more dominantly than Guzman won his.

It has everything to do with the fact that, scoring on a round-x-round basis: Giving Guzman two to three rounds is reasonable. Four is generous (as in, borderline disingenuous). Six is ridiculous.

Get on youtube now and you will see Guzman won:

    Rounds 1-3 (definite)
Round 4 (disputeable, again Guzman controlled the round for 2 mins, Funeka up his workrate in the last minute)
Round 6 (definite don't be fooled by the last 30 seconds, Funeka landed 3 clean punches this whole round)
    Round 12 (definite)

    7-11 were all Funeka.

Have the people arguing against the fact this result may be fair even watched the fight again since?

Anyone who scored the fight for Guzman should be shot, of course.

A draw or Funeka by 1 or 2 rounds is sound.

im sure it has been mentioned in other threads...but i wonder if golden boy kinda served andrade up in trade for guzman...i wonder if the guzman fight was close if he would have won an easy decision...since it was kinda lopsided...he got the draw...and they threw andrade up as an offering....i mean really? andrade get knocked out by a body shot?
