he is overrated, enters the ring 20lbs over the 160lb limit every fight and gets away with it, got busted for peds and pot, and is a punk.
Because he's not as good as all the hype that follows him around would suggest. He's the son of a legend, not a Mexican legend, but a true legend and all time great, yet he has not done a damn thing to be seen in anywhere near the same light as Sr. Imo, I believe his little brother Omar is a much better all-around fighter then Julio Jr. But little bro doesn't get the same attention, because he's chose to test himself very early in his career (21 Years old) and had two wars with Jorge Paez Jr. Which he was on the losing side of in very close 2 point on all cards UD and Majority Decision in their first fight (even though the first fight wasn't near as close as the second) Neither brother is anywhere near, nor will they ever be the fighter their father was. And to see the lazy older son with his fathers name get hyped like he's the second coming of the legend of JCC is a slap in the face of anybody that knows better. You need more then name recognition to be a great fighter, and I don't respect him because his attitude suggests that is exactly all he thinks he needs to be a star. I wont even start on his fighting in a division 2 stops down from where he should be. Dude should be at least a LHW, and still can't hold a candle to a natural 154 pound fighter! "Oh he knocked him down..." Well no ****! The dude is a ****ing giant in comparison and it still took him to the last round with the champ having busted hands and a busted knee before he could do it. Give me a ****ing break. Expect the loses to keep coming every time his team have him step up to fight the best, who wont just roll over for him. Because he really isn't that good, and will never be anything more than a fringe contender. Besides it doesn't real matter anyway, because one or two more big loses (beatdowns) and he'll get the brand (unable to win the big one) then we wont have to even discuss this fraud riding on his fathers legacy. Much rather talk about the real heir-apparent to the warrior name of Chavez, that being Omar...at least he isn't content to ride his daddy's name to personal fame, and will test himself against real fighters, win or lose/
I'm sorry to burst your bubble. This place is a shithole right now. Justice system is probably the most corrupt in the world, same goes for police. Bribery is rampant and stains every major institution. The economy may be growing, but it NEVER translates into better living for middle and lower classes. Education is a joke. Teaching jobs can be sold or inherited. MEXICO IS A FEUDAL COUNTRY, make no mistake about that. This will never ever be a first world country. Come and live here, forget the news.
Why all the hate? Lets see: 1. Pads his record cause of his dad's status 2. Gets access to state of the art facilities/training cause of his dad's status 3. Gets insider knowledge from a ring legend, again, cause of his dad 4. Comes into fights 30 - 40lbs heavier and gets away with it 5. Fails or forgoes drug tests and gets away with it 6. Obviously does PEDS 7. Absolutely sucks, cause a CW who fights MW should be dominating and he still got his ass kicked by Martinez. 8. Also has backing from Bob Arum due to , again, his dad's status. So we get **** like fighting in a ring the size of a phone booth, etc... /thread.
the word hate is a little exaggerated. Jr had an easy way in pro boxing unlike Sergio. Jose gave him a major belt very easy , a gift. After his fights with Zbik, Manfredo Jr , Rubio and Lee , Jr would've deserved a shot to a major title , ex Sergio's WBC title ! This it would've been the normal way for Jr !:yep
First off, Junior didnt quit. How many boxers have quit in the face of much less insurmountable odds? 1. DLH against Pac. 2. Duran No Mas. 3. Ortiz against Maidana. 4. Insert ATG's name. Yet the same haters give these boxer props. Second, DLH was never close to KOing Pac. Nor was Duran. Ortiz maybe, but only in the early rounds, and Maidana didnt have the glazed look of Martinez in the twelfth round. Third, Junior slept till 5 in the afternoon. Give the kid a break. He's lazier than most of you couch potatos, yet he endures 12 rounds of ass-whipping against the p4p best, then proceeds to humiliate Sergio like he never was before. Most of you ***gots wouldve quit in the first round against Sergio and cried like a baby. And you guys wake up at 8 am.
Floyd is far more overrated, enters the ring 20lbs over JMM and gets away with it, gets convicted for multiple crimes, and is a punk. Yet you adore him like a little ******. atsch
number 1. of course its motivated by his race.... number 2. people hate to admit when they're wrong, so they'd rather keep hating and hating since the kid has been proving them wrong for years now number 3. people ignore facts...and the fact of the matter is, the kid took a huge leap, a leap that many "elite" fighters woudn't dare take when barely making a name for themselves, or are heavily criticized kids good, and he'll get better
Seriously, every serious boxing fan knew that Junior bit off a whole lot more than he could chew when he signed the dotted line with the p4p king. Yet he gutted it out, took his punishment like a man, didnt quit like the "spoiled brat" he allegedly was and hurt the king like he never was before. He's also one of the most exciting boxers today. Of course he can improve.
