Why are medical commissions allowing Hopkins to fight Kovalev?

Hopkins is an alien they age differently to humans.

 

Could you elaborate (with some specificity and examples) on why you think Hopkins has a chin issue ?

Hopkin's roids have given him the physical condition of a much younger man, so the safety concerns here are less than you fear. But the real answer to your question is that, of course a 50 year old should not be allowed to get in the ring with KOvalev, but boxing commission doctors are as corrupt as the boxing commissions that employ them. So money and corruption will allow this fight to proceed.

 

1- This literally means jack ****. Go on youtube, you'll find plenty of people killing someone else WITH A SINGLE PUNCH for trivial reasons caught on camera.
Or according to your reasoning, 15 years old guys killing peoples in the knockout game are ATGs because they do with a single punch what hall of famers cannot do in entire careeers :deal. Makes sense.

That happened in amateurs, and his opponent clearly shouldn't have been in the ring. Not with kovalev, in the ring, period.

2- Kovalev is no different than any other boxer. I don't understand how people hype him so much, in fact he ha saccomplished NOTHING so far, beat no name and faced exactly 0 skilled/smart opponents.
The first time he'll fight someone elusive, he'll be embarrassed.

3- Watch footages of Kovalev, he's slower than many heavyweights, and way less skilled/composed than the average one.
He's as hittable as they come, and has been sparked at the amateurs, with headgear on and puffy gloves.

if it was Toney or RJJ I could see the concern, but Hopkins holds two belts LOL. Not an issue.

 

Rumors are that Hopkins has his own personal referee, boxing commission, judges, etc., he will be able to head butt, throw low blows, fall down on the canvas and try to get Kovalev disqualified like he did Dawson.........................this will not be a fair fight......................still, Kovalev should get to Hopkins before the ref can help him out....................I expect a very dirty fight.......................

Just to clarify, the Simakov tragedy happened in early December 2011 and nearly led to Kovalev abandoning his career (especially when added to growing doubts that he'd ever make a breakthrough in pro boxing).

Roman Simakov was also considered another solid prospect at the time (despite the Lepikhin loss - but you might want to give Vasily a little look over too) and the matchup was generally regarded as a fairly even one by all accounts.

Sergeis ring return came on June 1st 2012 with his FnF debut for his Boone rematch which also served as an audition of sorts for MEs Kathy Duva. The rest, as they say, is history.

I do agree that it doesn't take any kinda huge puncher to kill a guy in the ring though - these tragedies can happen to any boxer at any time - a painful knowledge that Sergei understands better than most. Can't be easy stepping into the ring knowing that you could be the next guy being stretchered out.

 

It does matter because Jonah Hill and Steve Rogers won't be medically approved.
