you mean nonito donaire? he has been calling out the other 2 japanese flyweight champs (wbc flyweight daisuke naito and wba chump takefumi sakata) but they're not keen on unifying.. right now he was planning on vacating his ibf belt and moving up to superflyweight, where competition was better

Oh well that is dissapointing then, that interview must have been longer ago than I thought.

Donaire seems to make more noise about Mijares/SFLW's than actually unifying his own division. Everything that is wrong with boxing right there.

I'd like to see him against Daisuke Naito. His 4 fights with Wonjongkam were very interesting.

The latest is on YouTube. The others I got by torrent a while ago, dunno if they are still hanging around.

Donaire is everything that's right with boxing and is just getting the short end of the stick. He has called out everyone in his division for unification, said on TV that he first and foremost wanted to unify, but they all turned him down. Then when he couldn't land a fight with anyone in his division he said he will fight anyone one division up. He also said that people are saying that mijares is the best around his division and that he wants to fight Mijares to prove he is the best. And he also said that he doesn't care about fighting on undercards of lesser fighters than him as long as he can get in the ring.

Pure class. Boxing needs more like Donaire.

I wasn't neccessarily saying Donaire was in the wrong. It's probably the other holders as you say, but either way it is everything that is wrong with boxing when a guy who seems to be comfortably making weight moves up without unifying his division.

agreed. But then again i like how Donaire seems to see the 112 and 115 divisions as pretty much the same division. When he talks about Mijares, he doesn't really consider him as someone from a higher division.

I'd just love to see him take on Naito or Sakata if possible. If they just won't fight, its fair enough, its just a shame. They are very good little fighters, even though they get virtually no attention down there.

There shouldn't be any rush with Donaire, he's young and a bit green looking at times, these are the perfect fights for him at this stage. Mijares ain't going to be going anywhere I don't think, he'll be there.

If I was only making a few thousand at most per fight, I wouldn't want to pay multiple sanctioning fees. Then again, I'm Scottish.

i'm 5'9 but i watch midget matches. you know why? cause most of the time they're more entertaining and skillful than some of those big sloppy guys from middleweight and above
