Yep DLH was at 154 for years and then had 1 fight at 160 prior to facing Hopkins.

Pacman is a small fighter for 135, fought the weakest champ there and hasnt faced the toughest that 135 has to offer and now hes going to jump up at 147 to face a large 147 fighter in DLH. I mean hell, DLH will have to put a lot of effort into making 147.

I'm guessing you've never been hit in the liver. That shot takes anyone out.

He's taking flak because of the size difference. There is a reason there are weight classes in boxing. This isn't rocket science.

I repsect him for getting in the Ring with B-hop, but I bash him for losing to Sturm, excepting the blantant robbery and fighting Bhop only to get KO'd.

Sturm deserved the Hop fight.. and would have done better then Dela.

He hasn't fought the "best" there because it's his first fight at 135, the man barely began here and is on his way to have more and more fights, can't criticise his resume there yet.

It's the DLH fight that is attracting him to think otherwise at this point and it's not even going to be an easy fight, his first at 147 against an already huge Jr. Middleweight who made Mayweather look tiny?, this isn't a smart choice and only money is keeping Pac blind here. I'd rather see the MANY good fights Pac can offer at 135 and 140 than one big fight at 147 with possibly nothing to follow.

I think we have to accept DLH now works to a different frame of reference to everyone else in the boxing world.

His fights are not about titles or even ring championships, they're attraction fights. Contests outside the usual pyramid nature of elimination the sport tries to work to.

As such, there is an element of fantasy about the fights. Fights which don't fit into anyone division but are driven solely by the PPV potential of the contest.

Hence Hopkins, hence Mayweather and the once mooted Hatton fight and while I agree DLH is looking for a victorious closure to his career I find it hard to accept the notion he's merely looking for the easiest option.

As someone opines above, Hopkins wasn't the easy option. Tito, Mosley were not easy options.

He's been shrewdly managed, differently, but with a similar management of risk to our own Joe Calzaghe and while he has been exposed to greater talents than the Welshmen there is certainly some synergy between them.

Personally, I think Pacman is an intriguing fight. Sure DLH could walk over and crush him in 2 or 3 rounds. It could be a mess, an embarrassment. But DLH v Pacman looks a stronger seller to the cross over market than say Paul Williams @ 147 or Winky @ 154 or Forrest, Mora or Judah or Cotto or Margarito.

Given a first choice, I'd have plumped for Margarito. But though arguably less worthy, in classic sense than Williams, the Pacman fights fuels my interest far more.

And boxing is a commercial venture first and foremost.

true..a well timed shot at the liver even though the one who punch is not that of a puncher would still have the ability to produce a KO. See penalosa-gonzales for example

Good point, only 1 fight at 135, However Mosley did leap from 135 to 147 to fight the same man we are talking about.

Never liked this fight. Never will.

I wanted to Pac to fight Campbell. Much more legacy to be made if that fight goes off.
