Why can't boxing fans be happy about both Canelo and GGG?

I like Canelo as a fighter.... don't like how fish nets had coddled him the last couple of years and manipulated the judges in his bigger fights.

Its mostly the Canelo fans who are still hating. I've not seen many GGG fans say Canelo was **** after the fight. Quite the opposite.

    Interesting...
Lots of GGG fans feared he wouldn't get a fair shake with the judges, so you two are admitting scorecard tampering??

I agree..the 10-2 card was manufactured which proves the fear was real.

In the rematch Oscar will buy 2 cards.

    I don't know about tampering but it wasn't 10-2

    It was a close fight

6-6 or 7-5 either way is possible

Maybe she had the better view in the building than everyone else

I think most fans are overall, thrilled a big fight like this one came off at the right time and didn't move past the expiration date. However, the scrutiny is around the controversy of the scoring. It's something we should be used to but it never sits well with fans who are so passionate about our sport. At the end of the day this situation won't kill boxing or set our sport back. It just won't allow it to progress. Boxing has been riddled with these kinds of "black eyes" which made it a niche sport vs main stream. With social media and accessibility to breaking news right at our fingertips, these circumstances are highlighted in a way that reaches a lot of people who associate the sport with corruption and fixed outcomes. It stifles boxing from earning a broader audience and fan base. Luckily the hardcore fans love the sport no matter how much bad press we receive so it will always remain.

I'm happy with the fight. Happy with both guys. My disappointment lies solely with the garbage judging...

Wait dude--you said 'True" to the previous statement:
"The 118-110 card was created to build hate for Canelo Alvarez'

key word being CREATED. That card was created, tampered, manufactured, whatever word you want to use.
"Maybe she had the better view..." is a cop out and is not honest. You are avoiding the pre fight comments by many GGG fans that the judges would not give him a fair shake. The 10-2 card proves that. And now you and a few others are not admitting to it.

I agree 100% it was a close fight. I have scored it twice--8-4 and 7-5 for GGG. But I can see a draw of 7-5 for CA as well and find that reasonable. But 10-2?

Compare 10-2 with the 11-1 against Cotto and the 6-6 against Mayweather and it def points that judges are bias toward Canelo.

It was a good fight with a potential to make a great rivalry. I think GGG edged it and it was a fight between a great middleweight vs a great jr middleweight. Ggg is abit past his prime and Canelo is FINALLY in his so it more or less evens out. Ggg's power is no myth there's a reason why Canelo was in reverse the whole fight. Rematch should be in order. The rematch Canelo has a chance for greatness.

Both men deserved our admiration prior to the fight and both should receive even more respect after the fight.

Neither fighter won 9 or more rounds of the fight, that is pretty much a fact.

It was a 7-5 (maybe 8-4 for GGG) type fight for either man, if you are truly being objective.

I am now an even bigger fan of Canelo now than I was going into the contest.

I wasn't that impressed with the fight, it was fine, but just showed the needless slow build up just wasn't warranted.

It was probably necessary to let it "marinate" so it would be more competitive. Canelo got better from 2015 to 2017 and maybe GGG deteriorated just enough.
