When Floyd signed with Top Rank,they flew him out on a private jet to a big fight with Oscar and Leonard.They were giving him tips on how to build a career,including telling him to use his smile like they did and be media friendly.Floyd thought they were false as people and told them to **** off,he'll do it his own way and it grew from there.

What I don't understand is how people like Oscar and SRL(who is my fav)can be so blatantly hypocritical and phony and people love them to the point of madness. and people who are who they are, weather they are an ******* or not is treated as if we want them to be phony. I rather deal with a real ******* because you know exactly where you stand with one than a fake person, I think Americans just like to believe in bull****. as long as the package is the **** comes in is what they like

 

Floyd sees DLH as competition. DLH was known as the guy who dominated PPV when he was fighting with NO competition at all....DLH has a **** load of money and Floyd who calls himself "money" doesn't want to give Oscar any credit...he's a little upset that DLH had to facilitate promoting his last few fights because of the powerhouse GBP is in the sport...there's definitley some jealously...but it's typical from Floyd who often gets jealous of those who get more attention than he does.

 

See the diffrence is look at who they fought in the ring ,hate em or love em they left it all in the ring and took on the best ..Big diffrence between those 2 and Floyd ..There is a reason they are so respected regardless of their phony attitudes ..Remember were all boxing fans first ..What you do in the ring is diffrent than what you do out of it !

I think that's another thing. Floyd's a man who's never lost in the ring, and he just can't understand how that's not getting him the respect that other fighters have got - fighters that, unlike him, have numerous blemishes on their record.

Yes, 24/7 was Floyd's idea and was basically created for him. No, Floyd DOES NOT give GBP 27% of anything. he pays them a flat fee, just like he does Haymon and others.

Floyd is great because, in his mind, he always feels like no one respects him and everyone hates him. It is what drives him to be great. Oscar is the perfect example of what Floyd really wants to be, but will never be. In the end, Floyd is actually more successful than DLH in revenue, etc, but he will never understand that.

 

oscar probably still more famous than floyd. floyd wants a celebrity status higher thans oscars. but he is not. oscar had like 20.000 girls screaming his name and so many other fans. floyd has 20.000 people in mgm crowd who hope he losses and most who watch him on tele say after wards "24/7 was more interesting than the fight itself." thats the reason why he wasnt so defensive in the cotto fight, because he finaly realised he is not only chasing money, but the love from the fans. had he always fought this way, he would be more liked and mroe famous than oscar.
