Too many of our best athletes play football and basketball. That's why you don't see any Americans above 175 that make much noise at that size they will all be playing football or basketball guys smaller than LHW can't really play football or basketball and we still have talent in those divisions.:deal
the rest of the world is playing soccer, thats why america are at least able to have some success at 140-154
and football hahahha you mean them fat guys who need oxygen after playing for 10 seconds they wouldnt have the fitness to walk to the ring
Most of our best athletes play football and basketball that's not up for debate. If these same guys instead of wanting to play football or basketball grew up taking up boxing we'd have more champs. The rise in the popularity of the NFL which really grew in the 80s and the NBA which really grew in the 90s hurt boxing in the country. Sports like the NBA and the NFL weren't really that popular before the 80s Baseball in this country was king until the 80s.:deal
Right now 27 boxers have won their early qualifier and none of them are american. However qualifying for the USA is not that hard. I think 2 north american / central american / south american boxers make it per weight class. A bronze can be had with the right draw, especially if a USA boxer draws an Oceania qualifier in round one. I highly recommend the below link to see who has made it and the qualification rules. Keep believing this fallacy to make yourself feel better. People from other countries play other sports too.
ya same way all worlds athletes grow up playing football and rugby, if it wasnt for that america wouldnt have a belt at all
You don't know **** about NFL and are too ignorant to even debate about the sport. Come to Texas and go to a high school team and ask to play with them and you'd have 16 and 17 year olds who would wreck your ass and make you change your tune.:deal
wreck me?hahah i suppose by the time they have got there oxygen and there insulin the training session would be over
It's the truth. The rise in popularity in the NFL and NBA has hurt boxing in this country. That's not to say that there's no talent in the rest of the world I'm not arguing that I'm arguing that those sports have hurt boxing in America.
ya its easy to qualify for the olympics from america but now oceania have to qualify with asia which makes it hard and the guys you really want to draw in the olympics are africans, wilder got the softest bronze medal ever, beating 2 useless fat africans, 1 he needed a robbery in however i dont see 1 american fighter with the potential to win a medal, if they had to qualify through europe not 1 would qualify imo
No they'd **** you up and make you not want to get out of bed in the morning. Keep thinking that Football is a soft game if you want to because they wear pads.:rofl I challenge any of you fools who think it is to try it like I described and I'm talking about High school kids for a reason because College or NFL players would kill you.:deal
No he's right. NFL is full of 'playas' who shouldn't even be there: obese, non athletic, not talented, poor work ethic, poor intelligence and decision making. Your NFL and NBA brothers wouldn't make it in boxing at all, let alone top level.
