On the matter of ducking simple requests, could you please provide the evidence to support your consistent claim as per the below...

I always ask you to provide evidence for this claim and you always go quiet on the subject when I do. This has been going on for years.

I have asked again, here, in this thread. Still no response.

So - are you going to meet with a perfectly reasonable request or are you going to do what you always do on this matter, which is dump your manure and run? (That is, to use your terminology, the same as "Ducking" - and is actually a few levels worse than just avoiding a question/request.)

Mendoza: A guy who said I m going to pass on the 10 Yes or No Holyfield questions now decides he's earned the right to ask his own? That's rich.

Both fights were in the works.

" Steward believes Lewis will probably fight Klitschko next, and then a fight with Roy Jones Jr., who recently won a bout in the heavyweight division, could also transpire.

“I think that fight is going to happen. He’s going to somehow find it in his mind that he can beat Lennox Lewis,” Steward said.

“I’ve told Lennox that in about 18 months from now, if he’s still boxing, he’s going to be getting ready to beat up a little guy named Roy Jones.”

I'll look for Johnson next, Lewis was considering him for a fight in Canada, up to the point Klitschko blew Johnson away.

OK - Did you miss the bit about "speculation and hearsay"??

You've provided an interview (with no time reference), in which Lewis agreed with the interviewer, in that the fight with Jones "could happen" and the brief discussion is about it's perceived marketability. Lewis explicitly states that no desire for the fight has been expressed by Jones.

The first article you post is from before the Lewis/Klitschko bout and, again, is just Steward blowing smoke. But, either way, it is not evidence that Lewis was seeking a bout with Jones rather than a Vitali rematch, after June 21st, 2003.

The third article is a piece about the madness of Roy Jones, in which the writer uses - once again - sheer conjecture from Steward, referring to an article preceding the Lewis/Klitschko fight. It is clearly about Jones' "ego" and perceived desire to fight Lewis; not Lewis chomping at the bit to fight Jones and it doesn't reflect a position taken by Lewis himself, after June 21st, 2003.

As a Heavyweight Titleholder, Jones' name was, of course, going to be mentioned in some loose talk in the press and over the airwaves, terms of unification - His name was also associated with Holyfield, Tyson and even Sanders.

But, in any event, none of what you have provided shows Lewis was seeking a fight with Jones, after his match with Vitali. There is no evidence that either side made a serious approach, after that point (or even beforehand).

And, btw - You are the one who has dodged this presentation of so-called evidence for years, after requests I have made from you in direct response to the consistent claims you have made about Lewis seeking bouts with fighters other than VK, after their 2003 encounter; not some exercise in goal-post moving and strawmanning, which is what your survey questions on-demand always amount to.

Now - with you having been pushed on revealing the basis of your claims, i.e. Lewis' attempts to make a match with Jones, rather than a rematch with Klitschko, if this is all you ever had, I can see why you've avoided presenting it in the past. This is not evidence of what you have claimed. It is exactly what I thought it would be - speculation and hearsay; potential fights being theorized, post-Tyson and pre-Klitschko.

    Thank you for the confirmation.
