Fanboys like MAJR, Jasper and Staminakills will always put forth the excuse that the idol of their nut-huggery had more worthy opponents to face.

As if Lennox couldn't have fought all of these fighters, instead of fighting just twice a year.

The reason I write this stuff is that most people regard Lennox as being on the level of Muhammad Ali, a man who fought for legacy. He not only took on his mandatory opponents, but took on voluntary defenses against fighters that other top guys were afraid to fight.

Foreman and Frazier wanted no part of Earnie Shavers. Ali fought Shavers, despite not being obligated to. Ali ducked no one. You can't find a great fighter that Ali didn't face.

There's a difference between guys like Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano, who ducked no one, and the fighters of the recent era like Lennox and the Klitschko brothers who pick and choose opponents based on which styles they can beat.

Let's keep it real, folks :deal

If Lewis beat BOTH Klits, Byrd, Ruiz, and Ibeabuchi, he'd have a case to be a top 3 ATG HW.

Lennoz dropped a belt to not having to fight Chris Byrd.

Another one to not fight Ruiz.

Maybe Bowe was the one that wanted less that fight, but Lennox surely wasn't willing to do it either.

Add to that list Valuev, Sanders and some other southpaw and you've got the picture.

I think Lewis would have KO'd both Ruiz and Byrd.

Byrd was not a Money opponent, boring style. Wlad got knocked out and looked exposed badly by Sanders. Ibeabuchi got himself in a straightjacket before he made it to a titlefight....

Better question would be why would Lennox duck these bums?

Lewis didn't fight Byrd because Byrd's promoter begged him not to destroy his little fighter and gave Lewis a $1 million and a car to ensure Lewis didn't kill Byrd. Lewis being the caring and understanding man that he is duly complied to save Byrd from a humiliating defeat and save the fans from such a tediously one sided fight it would be on par with the average Wlad title defence.

Lewis chose the superior Vitali over Wlad because in 2003 Wlad was still busy picking up the shattered pieces of his glass chin after Lewis had advised Sanders on how to beat him.

You dismiss Grant and say Ike was avoided yet Ike turned down a fight with Grant after he beat Byrd. Ike wouldn't even fight Grant yet you think Lewis was doing the ducking. Ike was too busy getting himself in trouble to be a viable opponent.

because it was between Byrd and Tyson as opposition. obviously Tyson was going to be the one getting the fight.

Wlad was too busy getting smacked around against C level fighters from the Lewis era. and they were well past prime to boot.

    Ibeabuchi went mental.

    i think that covers it.

oh, and... TKO6. deal with it bitches.

hey, Bitches rhymes with Stitches. you know, the stuff that put Vitali's face back together again. a Boxing version of Humpty Dumpty if you like.
