Yet he still makes from anywhere between 25-45 million less per fight than what Money Mayweather makes.

I feel that this whole argument of Floyd that he earns more than Manny per fight is totally misleading, with common opponents they generate almost identical PPV buys and they command the bigger share among their opponents... The only difference is Floyd co-promotes his own fights, while Manny has Arum to take care of that dirty end... Floyd as a co-promoter shares some of the responsibilities, fight expenses with his counterpart, while Manny relegates all of them to his promoter, so in effect what Floyd gets as additional compensation is his share as co-promoter... So in reality as fighters, both of them gets almost identical amount of money...
And the floydiots claim that Manny only gets 6mill per fight is totally absurd, in the Marquez fight alone that generates more than 1.4mill PPV buys, Manny's share of 20bucks per PPV buys gave him a whopping 28mill plus dollars, and that's on PPV alone, there is additional gate receipt and endorsements payments that will be added, Manny must have earned a total of 36-38mill big ones on this fight alone....

Making something and keeping something is not the same thing.

    For instance:

Let's say Floyd has earned $50,000,000 (purse, PPV sales, etc).

40% taxes (I assume this is the flat rate Americans pay)

    Promoter fees (20%)

    trainer (5-10%)

Cut man (depends on the agreement)

The rest of the team (1-5%)

What is he actually left with? Some of you young pups are good at throwing all these big numbers around without understanding the concept of taxes and other forms of expendature.

In my own case, I have my own business. It earns me £100,000 per month

    I pay:

    Salaries
    Tax
    National Insurance contributions
Pay as You EARN tax (PAYE)
    VAT for the business
    Corporation tax
    Fuel
    Insurance - motor (x2)
    Road tax (x2)
    Building and contents cover
    Banking fees
    Gas bills
    Water bills
    Electricity bill
    Broadband/Telephone
    Building maintanance
Vehicle maintanance (we have 2 vans)
    My suppliers
    My accountant
    Council tax

and others I can't even remember at the moment.

Only THEN do I get my dividend and I have to pay more tax on that too. £100,000 a month ain't £100,000 tax free in my pocket.

You all need to start looking at the world from a whole new perspective, not like some kids in a candy store taking **** without paying for it.

Pac taking on Barerra, Marquez, and Morales in a pretty much back to back fight no joke. His back to back fights with Dela Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto is also breathtaking. No wonder he won fighter of the decade.

Are you saying that Floyd is only offering free rooms, buffets, and limo rides because he's trying to bribe his fans into buying his tickets? That's like saying that Floyd can't sell and he needs to offer free stuffs in order to sell .

Everyone was giving **** to ODLH for picking on a smaller man (me included). Now that Manny beat ODLH everyone and their mother say that ODLH was drained yet no one mentioned it months before the fight :verysad

I now work for a corporation rather than on my own. I calculated that after I paid for all of my overhead, plus the time I spent on administrative duties rather than selling, the money is almost identical, if not even more in my favor.

A lot of people don't realize that the corporate tax rate is much higher than the personal tax rate and it takes a lot of work to keep the Federal government from taking the bulk of what you earn.

I dont want this to sound stupid but here goes.

    Hatton got 50%

    Manny got 50%

But Arum needed to find another 2% from another part of the negotiation for Manny as he wasnt going for the exact split , so I think it was Arum who coughed up the extra.

This does not make the purse 102% , just the monetary terms were increased for Manny.

I know that Hatton did not take less than 50%.

I earn a good living out of this. I'm only 26 and feel blessed to be in this position. However, I work my arse off and relative to what comes in, I keep very little.

I actually worked out that had I done pharmacy or something like law I would probably be earning slighty more. However. I am my own boss and no-one can talk **** to me.

Yeah, that's gonna be me. . . Well, I'm going to have a partner to split a secretary, and office rent with. . . But we'll each have our own, separate clients. Nobody to answer too. . . Make my own hours, vacations, etc. But had to go through 4 years of undergrad, and 3 years of law school. (about to start my last year.)
