Hatton's size disadvantage was made clear by Mayweather at 147, he wasn't going to look good in the clinch against a man who bullied the much larger and stronger Antonio Margarito around. I don't think he'd stop Hatton quicker than Pacquiao though, just because he couldn't counter aswell as Pacquiao at that point in his career or use angles as well as Pacquiao. Hatton probably would have taken a much more serious beating before being stopped in 4.
Business and a chance to make a great fight in the Staples against Hoya. He felt he could jump up 11 pounds and perform, had a couple of tune-ups and went for it, as simple as that.
Exactly. The notion that Mosley ducked 140 is beyond ridiculous. IIRC, when Mosley beat Ole' Fishnets, NOBODY @ 140 was in a hurry to move up and face him...
Did people here give Oscar as much **** for "making mosely come up to 147", like they gave Floyd for "making Marquez to come up to Welterweight" Did Oscar get the same crap for fighting guys "2 divisions below him"?????? Even though Oscar was a bigger weltweweight than Floyd is?
Mosley was already at 147 having eeked out a stoppage win over Rivera and battered Willy Wise. Game Over. Try again? 50p required.
Shane backpedals like crazy like he did against Forrest and proceeds to get outboxed by Tszyu en route to a UD loss after he realizes he can't carelessly absorb punches with his face like he was able to do against most other fighters. That said though, Tszyu-Mosley is really a question of who gets caught with something big first. Tszyu could get stopped if Mosley catches him, but on the other hand, in the instances where Mosley actually has been hurt/dropped (Forrest and Pacquiao), Mosley proceeded to basically disengage afterward and not make a serious attempt to win, lest he risk getting badly hurt again. That's what makes Tszyu-Mosley almost a pick 'em fight at 140 in my opinion.
atsch Save us this cry baby ****. Shane went up to 147 on his own, chasing a fight HE wanted. Nice try...not..
First of all Zu would not stand a chance against Mosley at 140. SSM was one of the best ever at 135 and went on to beat the champ at 147. Zu was very good but SSM was great in that time frame. The answer to the question has been stated a few times on this thread. The Answer is Oscar and the big payday that would mean. Oscar was the cash cow that is why PBF was calling him out him out when he was a super feather weight. All roads lead to Oscar back then
