Everybody on here are people who spend a lot of time following boxing. I've met loads of people who call themselves big Hatton fans but know nothing about anyone else currently involved in the sport in any way. People who can name Hatton, Benn, Eubank, Bruno, Naz, and Ali. No others. These are the people the "p4p title" talk is aimed at, both from Hatton's mouth and from the media's mouths because they make up the bulk of the ppv buyers. Hatton's a shrewd guy.

Many people claimed such a thing after he beat Maussa.

That he was an ATG because he beat Maussa?? I can understand people getting carried away inbetween the JLC and Mayweather fights but Maussa and after Mayweather? No chance.

Besides, all Hatton fans are not collectively responsible for what a small minority of them say say on here!!!

Where would the story be in that?

Funnily enough, sporting press conferences are generally used as an opportunity for journalists to get a few quotes from newsworthy sportsmen in order to write a story that their readers might actually care about.

They are not venues for those journalists to lecture said sportspeople on why their opinions are wrong, or spend time debating subjects that 99.9% of their consumers would not have a bloody clue about.

Yep many fans thought he was an ATG after he beat dangerous Colombian Maussa, who had beat Vivian Harris.

I think their illusions were shattered when Ortiz KO'd him in a round.

I think most people realised he'd already been beaten by Cotto, and won his belt against a hugely overrated Harris in what resembled a playground scrap.
