Out of respect. John Ruiz invented the jab and grab, then Wlad perfected it. Klitschko fighting Ruiz would be like Luke Skywalker kicking Yodas ass.

 

Ruiz held a belt for years, he never once tried to unify the division. Ruiz was a coward and was never a champion, same with Byrd.
