That is the fight that had him questioning his existence in boxing. I believe his wife started pressuring him to quit as well.
She's a keeper. He was starting to net big paydays at that point. Good that she cares more about Timbo's health.
Lost heart after 2 paydays? That's a silly statement, especially after the heart he's shown thought his career.
Don't mind actuallyjustacasual, he's trolling. (at least, I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt in assuming that he is, because that's just the kind of warm & fuzzy optimistic humanist I am..)
I got to disagree with you on the Ruslan fight. Bradley himself said he experienced problems health wise following that fight. In regards to the Marquez fight, he fought a completely different fight then he did vs Provodnikov. He out boxed the counterpunching Marquez. He didnt rush in throwing combos like he did fighting Ruslan. Marquez fight was a great performance by Bradley.
He was probably a bit burned out. I thought he would have been competitive with Thurman, Porter, and Garcia. He probably decided to hang them up when it was clear that Arum wasn't going to let any of Haymon's young blood, use him as a possible stepping stone.
And Haymon is offering his fighters to everyone else? Maybe you should see Haymon's latest statement on Spence/Crawford..
I didn't claim that. Fact of the matter is, is that at that time frame we are talking, Arum still had Pac, and Bradley as top welters. He wasn't letting them anywhere near Haymon's young lions at welter. Anything Haymon does now is simply back at ya.
No, you laid the claim it would be Arum not allowing this fight. There's nothing to support that notion. But with Haymon's statement on not needing TC, you allow it over some "Got you back" child-like retort...
His motivation was gone and he already made and saved a boatload of money, but I’ll post what the man himself said. "I had a helluva run. It was a good career," Bradley said. "I'm just not motivated to do this anymore. I've saved my money. I'm good." https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/20263533/timothy-bradley-announces-retiring-boxing
This. Pretty much lays it out there after watching the fight where Maxim Dadashev died. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZzgZw0k4V4
I’m with the Ton of other guys who say it was the provodnikov fight. Those kind of beatings take it right of some fighters. Along with the piles of cash made from the pac fights.
It didn't? So I guess it's normal for fighters to suffer from slurred speech and severe memory loss for months after a fight, not to mention pissing blood. Get the **** out of here with this bull****. Do you really think you're helping Pacquiao with posts like this?
The fight against Provodnikov ranks as the dumbest, bravest, most self-destructive thing I've seen a professional fighter do, ever. All because Tim is such a nice, people-pleasing, Mr. Peanutbutter type of individual and couldn't bear to be the badguy in the wake of the Pacquiao I decision (which, btw, never was his fault, he just did his job and showed up & fought, and was never responsible for what the judges turned in) and wanted to win back hearts & minds.
