Fact is that Vitali did not duck Byrd, he had zero reason to duck Byrd. Vlad beat the living Hell out of Byrd easily. Byrd himself said that Vitali was harder to fight than Vlad.................Byrd would have stood zero chance of beating Vitali....................I get the feeling that there are a lot of children on this board.....................geeeeeeeeeeeeee....................wonder what would make me think that?

He didn't want to get embarrassed a second time.

Chris Byrd made Vitali hit air for nine rounds, and was slowly softening up Vitali and would have knocked him out in the 11th or 12th. Vitali was cunning enough to quit with the lame excuse that his shoulder hurt. A real fighter continues when his shoulder hurts.

your point would carry weight "if" Vladdy had not got to Byrd a second time knocking him out. Well out classing Byrd across the board before knocking him out. So its not as if Byrd was the name he was before he got slammed by Vlad. Had Vlad not pasted Byrd your point would be very valid. Its just not that much of a point as what real noise did Byrd make in the ring after his second beat down by Vlad? Not much correct? Did he pile up good wins to get back into the thick of the rankings? He didn't did he?

I recognise it now, but you clearly and blatantly started making this about racism, when I was previously unaware the title was involved.

not knowing there was a title involved is not racism, and its wrong for you to suggest it was, as you are still doing.

If you aren't going to end your accusation, I shall end it now so that you are spared being reported.

wlad was faster and harder for him to hit. vitali was easy for him to hit. vitali knew what was coming. too bad vitali didn't have the confidence in himself that you have in him...otherwise, we would have saw that rematch.

Vitali likes *****, So does Wlad, or at the very least Wlad likes females who have the body of a boy. He is dating that skank Hayden right? Neither of the Klitshcko's have the balls to fight anybody they think they can't beat. Even if that person is a blown up middle weight with no punching power like Chris Byrd.

Joe Louis fought a blown up lightweight named Billy Conn.

Just kidding. Actually Byrd had been fighting at heavyweight for years by the time he fought Vitali, and although Billy Conn started at lightweight, he was a natural light heavyweight by the time he fought Louis.

But you know, I never did like how Vitali quit in that fight with Bryd. I actually agree he should have tried to get a rematch to avenge the loss.

The truth is, Byrd became the IBF Champion and was primarly fighting his mandatories while Vitali had to rebuild his reputation and get back in the rankings. Vitali spent two years in the fringe when Lewis actually hand picked him over Byrd as a replacement opponent, expecting an easy Michael Grant like fighter that would fold under the pressure in a round or two. He said so himself.

Vitali was than obligated to face Johnson for what he thought was the right to face Lewis but instead he got Sanders for vacated WBC belt. By this point, Byrd was inactive and tied up in a legal battle with King, unable to secure any name opponents.

Vitali/Byrd II may have been possible in 2006 but Vitali was already retired.
