Why didn't Angulo have his power tonight?

Those early body punches really had an effect on el perro.

The way he tucked his elbow up after one you could see the pain

Angulo didn't look good at all at his ring entrance. He didn't look like his usual self. No bounce in his step, not display of energy at all. He looked like Dead Man walking with no hype or display of motivation. Everyone around him walked like zombies.

This was also pointed out by Paulie very early in the fight. He said that Angulo needs to be coming forward to get power on his shots. Canelo putting Angulo on the back foot prevented this.

He also pointed out after the fight that Canelo's defense, and the hard counters Canelo was landing, were making Angulo hesitant in his offense.

I'd say that's it right there in a nutshell.

Why invent conspiracy theories and other excuses instead of just admitting that Canelo was the better fighter?

Canelo won the fight in the first round as others have said. His power (and the fact he was able to land so cleanly) completely discouraged Angulo. When you're being hammered by hard shots, it discourages you from throwing anything meaningful in case you leave yourself open.

Something very off -kilter about his performance. He cut Lara off and attacked him vigorously but repeatedly let Canelo maneuver away and only hit him with pity patter.

Angulo was throwing shots like a zombie the minute the bell rang and he before Canelo landed anything significant.

So margarito also lost all his powazz against mosley. I'm baffled as to how someone can watch this fight and reach the conclusion that Angulo didn't try hard enough. Lara didn't land half of the power punches which Nelo did.
