Why didn't Angulo have his power tonight?

Agreed. He has some thump, but he's not a massive puncher. He's always sort of clubbed with his punches. He spent most of the night giving ground, and when he was pushing in, Canelo was staying away from his LH. Canelo also made him a tad shy with the sting on his punches.

People want to think that because he rag dolled Lara a few times, and dropped Kirkland that he has big power. Kirkland's chin is very suspect, and Lara's, who didn't have the power to deter Angulo, isn't exactly iron.

 

What may also surprise people but shouldn't is that canelo is tougher than Lara. I've never seen the man pushed around and his stocky frame allows him to stand his ground unlike lara who has a suspect chin.

 

I don't know what was wrong with Angulo last night, but something definitely was with him.
His punches were very lethargic.
Maybe his fight with Lara took a lot out of him. In that fight, his body action had lots of power to them, but last night they were like pitty-pats.

Angulo even looked tired as he made him ring entrance. He appeared to have no energy as he slowly walked to the ring, with no bounce, or any sign of energy.
LOL, it looked like someone had slipped him a micky.

 

yep thats exactly what i saw as they came together in the center of the ring canelo hit him hard with a left hook to the temple. Then canelo hit him with a few body shots and he didnt let Angulo recover

 

Exactly. I agree that Angulo is more of a clubber recently and it doesn't always take big power to score knockdowns in boxing, example being the Lara fight.

 

seems like schitter is turning boxing wwe style.
