Why Didn't Liston & Chuvalo Fight?

    to be honest, i saw it as a pummelling. now, chuvalo wasn't terribly hurt by it (unlike against frazier, which imo was far more brutal) but the damage he was taking was unnecessary. maybe if we knew then of foreman's stamina issues the ref might have given chuvalo the benefit of the doubt. however, with the image of the clubbing beast that was in the ring that night i think it was easily justifiable

    The fact that George was still combative after that hook is beyond belief really, he truly was an iron man.
    I love his interviews ,I would have expected them to be painful stammering incoherent tortures for him ,but he is lucid, articulate, and ,very funny and self deprecating. The guy had his and everyone else's share of tragedy in his life yet he comes up strong and smiling ,not really a great fighter ,but, possibly a great man.

    Chuvalo too tough and in much better shape. Liston either quits or gets knocked out.
