You clearly don't understand the venacular of forensic science. When they say they have found traces of something, they are saying that they have found traces of substances in a quantity and combination that is consistant with having plaster in his wraps. This also supports the evidence of eyewitnesses, i.e Nazim. Marg's trainer has said that he grabbed the wrong wraps by accident, thus admitting that the wraps had something illegal in them. Marg has accepted that there was something in the wraps, and fired his trainer.

Yes entirely different sort of violation. Margarito was caught and railroaded on a technicality that would never hold up in court. Lewis removed all the horsehair padding in the knuckle areas of Resto's boxing gloves then dipped the entire handwrap in plaster to increase its mass & hardness.

Margo just had two semi-rigid inserts in his knuckle pads much like those used to protect a fighters' hands during sparring and training on the heavy bag. Technically illegal according to CSAC boxing regulations but far from what people think.

I doubt it actually did any more damage than a regular wrap although it may have provided extra protection to Margarito's hands which allowed him to punch with less care about whether he was hitting elbows or hips which might otherwise have injured his hands.

I agree with this. None of us know exactly what it is bit I think it was more for protection of his hands than hurting his opponets. This whole thing got blew way out of porportion, what he did was illegal, but he wasnt trying to kill anyone in the ring

Maybe the commission added a little water to the soft pads and then they became hard as bricks.

 Yeah Margarito is the real victim in all this. God forbid he gets his little hands hurt in a fight. I can't believe all the pussies complaining about getting punched in the head by plaster wraps. If they didn't want to get hit in the head wth a hard plaster like substance maybe they should have taken up water polo instead of boxing. Who would have known that having plaster wraps in boxing was illegal? How are they supposed to knock each other out with regular cloth wraps? Margarito has been made a scapegoat.

All you ****s trying to justify and talk away Margarito's actions in this incident should be ****ing ashamed of yourselves. If something like this happened in any other properly regulated sport the **** wold have been banned for life and dragged before the courts.

Bull ****. The intention was to alter the glove so either man could punch harder than if they were fighting according to the rules.

I don't know the fine details of the case but if Margarito did cheat he should be banned for life. Same for any boxer that tests positively for banned substances.

Some boxers work all their lives and invest all of their emotion in the success of their career.

To cheat, and to cheat in a way that endangers the life of another boxer is more than disgusting.

Thats pretty much how I feel about...Boxing is already a dangerous sport, so for you to gain an extra advantage by placing foriegn substances in your gloves (loading your gloves) is a cardinal sin IMO and should get the most harsh punishment...Boxers hands are already considered deadly weapons and for you to pull a stunt like this is a ****ing disgrace!:verysad

I was never sure if Marg was guilty or not....I'm not satisfied with Marg being convicted based on what I've read...I think he could have used plaster but with what was presented he didn't do anything wrong. Let the man fight....STOP accusing people of BS. They are doing it to MANNY without ANY proof and with the proof they have against Marg...none of it is solid.

Would that be the same as needling your hand up so you could punch as hard as u like without feeling the pain in your hand?

In my opinon it is different. Adding pads, taking roids... smacks of performance enhancment beyong the fighter's natural potential.

Pain relief seems a lesser sin.

BUT, looking holistically, Nature should reign as king. No banned subsances should be allowed.

what constitutes as banned is up for discusssion
