I got an Aussie mate who can box quite well. Problem is he wouldnt have the first idea who Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao are. Its almost like they learn to box but have no interest in following it or competing at a high level
If theres one country id expect to produce world class boxers its Brazil, 192 million people, I guess they got no boxing culture there.
I dont like sports where you can kick or knee. Throwing is ok though hence I like watching Judo and practice it a bit
These two really make you wonder why Aussies produce so few champions ... simply its unbelievable, why?
Stefarn, was this you that made an appearance at 0:54 of this video? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EY7lYRneHc[/ame]
yes i think so.. its an immigration country and most of the ppl who moved there, specially those Brits who always had an exceptional rate of relatively weak and glass jawed ppl themselves, didn´t do that because they were so strong, assertive where they came from. its different to the US. someone like Geale for example, hes a wimp. he has no physical strength. I bet he'd lose to lets say someone like Gamboa in arm wrestling. basically it is but the level of competition is not all that great..
You catch the highlights from this years World Championships in Tumbaguwaloooobongaville on Sky Sports 4 at 3am this morning?
madmanc, If you lived here you should know why.First of all there's not many boxers to begin with, the next thing is the competition here is well poor unlike in America the prospects there fight real boxers not tuk tuk drivers or some bum that can't throw a decent 1-2, that's a simple jab followed by a right straight.
