It's mostly a population and a popularity thing. Australia only has about 1/3 as many people as the UK to begin with, and while boxing is somewhat popular, there are other sports that are far more so. That said, they've had quite a few champs recently (although some were guys who relocated to Australia from elsewhere) - Katsidis, Zappavigna, Dib, Darchinyan, Geale, Green, Mundine, Ben Rabah, N'Dou, etc. Considering they only have 20 million people, that ain't bad at all. I'd guess that in the last 10 years, Australia has had far more than 1/3 as many titlists as the UK. Saying it's because of Aussies themselves is ludicrous. Despite the size of the population, they usually end up near the top of the medals counts in the summer Olympics because they're so competitive in so many different sports. I doubt there's a more sports-crazy country in the world.

as you say most of the fighters you mention arent even australian and none of them have been the best in their respective divisions just alphabet title holders.the last real world champion we had was fenech which is **** poor and in this time the uk have had many fighters in this time. its embarrassing
The population of Australia is 22m. That isnt big. The population of the UK is over 60m so youd expect more champions.
