It is what it is, they're just as much paid to hype the sport as anyone else. It's the big advantage MMA has over boxing, in the UFC Dana White can come out and say "it was a **** fight, I promise the next will be better", because he owns all the fighters of note (with some exceptions) and can say if you don't perform, **** off. Bunce, Sky and the boxers success depends on the casual fans and the more dedicated fans wanting to watch boxing, destroying one of the most casual fans most popular fighters for the ability to please people who are already gonna watch just don't make sense...unfortunately, real opinions have no place in a sport with waning popularity and fighters who control the sport.

How about Haye vs a gutless brit......oh wait we already got that. It may have got 700,000 buys but its 600,000 who won't buy hayes next fight.

Wallet we will see about Haye. Without Groves vs DeGale i reckon it moves to the MEN. The 02 is a tough sell.

Whats also sad is that at this rate Haye will only be remembered for conning the public in a mis-match against Harrison, considering he has a silver from the world champs, won a few belts at cruiser (never unified as he didnt fight Cunningham or Bell) and has a exciting gunslinger style

Those who say he wont be bothered are wrong. yes he has money to be comfortable but its always been his dream to be Heavy weight champ, called by mike buffer in front of a sold out MGM, like a Lennox Lewis - instead hes as bad as a sauerland slyvester like champ and wont fight over a few pound when hes set for life already

He should have signed for 2nd July and make it so if Wlad pulls out he would get 1st option on his return

I dont think Haye is quite as bad and isnt as much to blame as everyone makes out.

Sure, for past few years,he should have bit the bullet and accepted a bit less money and got the fights happening

But i do understand the reasons for it failing before.

Setanta went tits up,and he wasnt going to fight for free,so he had to pull out of the 1st signed fight with wlad,he asked that they wait for a few weeks and re schedule, wlad didnt want to wait.

The 1st time of signing with vitali, haye claims he agreed thier terms, but when it came to signing contracts sent through, they sent through a encylopedia contract that had all kind of different terms, now enough of the other opponents and potential opponents have backed up Haye's claims,so it could be true.
But anyway,he fought valuev, got on sky,got more coverage, more experience, got a title, and made these fights unification fights. He made it so they had a reason to fight him beyond a "grudge" fight.

Barrett was a tune up,valuev=title fight,ruiz-mandatory,fraudley-bad match, but understand how it came about, fraudley conned people into thinkig its a competitive fight,Haye was honest and said all along, its a non competitive fight, its not a legacy fight, and people bought it didnt they?,so demand was there.
if he fights someone ranked but unkown it dont selll aswell.(even though he should have done).

He this time round did everything reasonable to make the fight.

He agreed to go to Germany,he agreed all the little things, glove size, name order, german dr,ect. Then Wlad decides to fight Chisora so close to thier fight that the preperation and promotion just doesnt get done and its an obvious duck.

wlad last fought 3 fights in a year in 2008,before tht 2002.last decade, hes been a 2 fights a year boxer.
last time he fought fights close together was in 2000,he was 25,now he will be what 35?.
If the man cant do light workout without getting a fight stopping tear, then how can he fight 2 or 3 fights 9 weeks or less after each other!.

Wlad dropped out(from chisora) in decemeber,so its his fault hes that inactive. He also b/s that fight up as a contest, and saying delboy is a good opponent, dont b/s please, lol.

if hes always fit why not fight july?,if hes so much better then haye, why need a tune up?,just do serious spars around this time, stop, then start again near the fight for july.

Wlad had his 2 managers give 2 injuries!,and 2 different come back dates!,then was spotted on a golf course on holiday!.

Wlad also filled his time up later this year by fighting adamek,a good boxer, but not a natural heavyweight,no real power, got wobbled by arreola!,an ex light heavyweight.

With all regular klit. type cluases, why didnt he make one where chisora was on undercard ready to be bumped up should Haye drop out?.(despite wlad the one who drop out 2 days before a fight a few months ago)

why didnt they get haye to sign a money penatly should he pull out?.

Haye is choosing not to have chageav,an old ill past it midget,to have povetkin as his mandatory,an undefeated ,gold medalist, who has fought good opponents.

Haye does need to fight in america or on us tv,and does need good fights next, and does need to not reitre early just to keep some old stupid promise to himself.(hes young, reflexes speed still there,no wars, not had many fights, still has goals to achieve)

I believe he will fight: povetking,be forced to fight vitali in summer, through wlad not wanting it,and carry on till early next year for wlad.
(wlad has more titles, the big mouth and is prime, vitali is older slower, but tougher)

I didn't say it would be easy! But you can't say it is impossible, either.

When we are born none of us can speak a word. We don't know any vocabulary, we don't have any grasp of grammar, or of syntax. We are totally mute. We also have the intelligence of babies. And yet from this ridiculously low base level each of us somehow managed to learn the English language so that years later we could chat **** about boxing on ESB. That's the power of human potential. It wasn't easy for any of us to learn language given where we started. But we all did it. We are all capable of making seemingly impossible achievements. But most of us give up hope.

I just can't understand why people set their sights deliberately low. In anything I do I want to be the best. I will almost certainly never achieve that in any field. I will almost certainly never be the best at anything. But if you don't try to be the best -- you will certainly never be the best. And what's the point of living if you don't even try? Aren't all the boxers we love the most the ones who try to win out against all the odds -- and succeed?

If you are a boxing journalist -- try to be the best. Ask the hard questions in search of the truth. Keep asking until you get past the bull****. It isn't easy. David Haye doesn't want to admit his mistakes and he is a clever man who can rationalise/bull****. But deep down David Haye knows right from wrong. You have to ask the right questions in the right way to get to the truth. I didn't say it would be easy. I said it was worth trying.

People who say David Haye would never come back on Bunce's show if he was grilled -- I understand what you are saying. But in asking the hard questions you don't have to be an *******. If you want the truth to come out you don't want to alienate David Haye. You need to engage David Haye. You need him to like you and respect you and recognise that you are asking the tough questions for the right reasons. And then, if you help Haye see where he has been going wrong he will not hate you for it -- he will thank you for it. I agree that right now David Haye would not go on a show if he knew he was going to get grilled. David Haye is capable of change.

P.S. I know I sound like a crazy preacherman. What can I say? I believe everybody wants to be good, we just don't know how yet.

P.P.S. This is a good discussion :good

For an estimated 10,000 complaints its not that wild an assertion to make

For that many people to actually make the effort to complain is incredible, given an indication of the strength of feeling. usually people complain and dont bother to lift the phone. they did this time in their 1000s

Although regarding the Audely farce, Haye is not as culpable as some say. It was Skys fault for approving that as a PPV, knowing full well what Harisson was all about. Haye saw a chance to make a quick easy buck and took it.

DVB there good points in defence of Haye but at the end of the day he chose to fight Audley Harrison when the Klitscko fight with fair terms was offered.

To say Haye is not botherd by legacy cos hes rich is silly.

Remember Haye offered Enzo Macceranelli £150,000 to fight him in a non title fight so it wouldnt jepordise his WBC ranking and fight with Lineal cham Mormeck.

But because of Haye seeing that chance he turned down Klitscko.

What would Haye have done of Sprott had just ran in the 12th?

I come on here to laugh at your deluded opinions, and the fact you sit frothing in rage about these things enough to start a thread, which in turn just promotes the guy you are stressing about.
