Countering - outside countering goes to Floyd. Everything on the inside Duran.

Ring IQ - Both were extremely smart in the ring but excelled in different areas.

Footwork - Floyd has the better footwork on the back foot but Duran's was better inside. Especially getting inside and creating angles.

Defence - Again different styles, but equally impressive on the eye. Duran's being much more risky to employ, and required almost telepathic instincts because he employed it in the danger zone combined with his offence.

Accuracy - Foyd has the stats because he didn't take risks.

    Combinations - Duran

    Body shots - Duran

Integrating offence and defence with fluidity - Duran

Rossco is back to put these Floyd fanboys into place.

Duran > Floyd. It's sad that people think that's debatable. Some idiots even think Floyd would BEAT Duran. Floyd couldn't even handle the Duran wannabes Jose Luis Castillo and Marcos Maidana. Duran is a monster. Even Floyd said his toughest fight would be Duran lol

Floyd Mayweather is not a master of boxing, he is not a master of defence. You're only a master in defence IF you're actually outpointing by FIGHTING, not outpointing in the way of taking the 'fight' element out of boxing. If Maidana wanted to outpoint Mayweather the cheap way, he EASILY could have, but that's not what boxing is about.

Floyd is a phoney who is the king of IV.

Why the hell would Floyd want to stand and trade? That would play into his opponents' hands.

He's a master in defense. Defense is not getting hit.

I can not get hit if I were to literally be prepared to run around the ring for 12 rounds, and hug when I need a breather.

You're only a master of defence if your defence is sound when you're FIGHTING - in that territory where your defence has to be ultra specialised to not get hit. I don't rate these Duck Runhuggers.

It's called fighting smart. Not that you'd know anything about being smart.

This post just proves Floyd is not as skilled as Duran.

Measure them head-to-head and Mayweather outboxes him to a UD at virtually every stage of their respective careers.

I say that as a great fan of Duran. That said, I don't think it's an argument much worth having. They're both top 10 ATGs - Duran being one of the best of his era and Mayweather being the undisputed best of his.

Combo punching isn't a skill just like speed isnt. Inside fighting is a skill I'll give you that. Defense pbf by a mile he's a top 3 atg defensive fighter. Ring IQ is pbf all the way he wasn't befuddled by Benitez movement or quit against srl because he had no answer. Pbf made adjustments and was in control 90% of the time he was in the ring.

You beat me to it; Duran is the more well-rounded fighter. Floyd obviously had the greater reflexes but not factoring it in, Duran had the higher skill level IMO. Hell, Golovkin is more skilled than Floyd in areas such as shifting and feints.
