Why Do So Many Discredit Paul Williams

Dominance has been estatblished...Marg knows Paul will beat him again so he wants somebody he can beat cause if he fights Paul again then it's over for him...and Paul will have to be acknowledged as the man. Right now there are delusional fans that try to act like Paul is not a factor when they know the reality...That Williams will be Marg time and time again...

 

I don't think anyone is taking shots at Paul for wanting to fight Marg now. Most of the flack is over Marg's seemingly unwillingness to fight Paul who was Margs most recent and most clear defeat.

But if put in to perspective Marg is just wieghing out all his opitions. Marg is not accustomed to being in the driver seat with people calling him out. Usually He has to be the one calling out fighters.

So Marg still has a chance at DLH (even though it's HIGHLY unlikely). He's waiting until there is confirmation that a fight between Marg and DLH is complete off the table due to DLH taking anther fight. I'm sure that will happen but contracts and aggreements take time to work out.

Until an official announcment don't expect marg to accept any other fight. Once DLH is off the table Marg and his team will figure out who the next opponent will be and I'm sure its gonna be a tough challenger. I just hope it's Williams or Josh.

 

Calm down there kid.....it's not like we are talking about elementry school bullies against the pocket protector book worms or anything..... These are grown ass men in a brutal sport.

Most boxers are not scared of anyone. they are cautious and understand their own style versus the styles the others have. Marg knows Paul is a hard challenge but He's not scared nor does he think Paul will beat him again.

The rematch between the two will be made, but just b/c fans want this fight right now doesn't mean Marg wants it. There are options that need to be looked in to and that takes time.

Once all the options are laid out and the top options are eliminated then well get the meat of the situation at hand. But no one should be calling Marg out as ducking Paul...that is ****ing ******ed. Just as ******ed as some saying Paul is not a "Factor" in the WW division.

 

Charlievint.. I understand all of that. But do you understand how this sounds from a fighter who has made his reputation calling out others and whose fans talk about other boxers who "chose the business route carefully"???

It's perfectly OK for him to exercise his right to be a businessman. Now does this mean we can all chill out with the "Most Feared" and "Mexican Warrior" talk that we have to constantly get barraged with?

 

I do understand but I think your view is warpped considering Marg is not Ducking anyone like everyone is trying to proclaim. I would AGREE if Marg was actually ducking Paul saying that he'd never fight him, or saying that he doesn't Need Paul...or whatever.

At this stage Marg is fresh off his BiGGEST win against Cotto. Things take time to materialize and given the options that Marg has, it's natrual he's taking time to figure out his next move. I'm sure he knows DLh is proably not going to fight him so he's looking at other options and I'm sure Paul is one of them

People are just some impatient...particularly boxing fan. It's not Marg who is the business man...Marg is the fighter. Marg doenst handle the business aspect of his career. he has handlers for that and Marg fights who they put in front of him. This has nothing to do with Marg taking or not taking the rematch with Paul right away.

Marg is still very feared as is Paul and Marg is MOST DEFINITLEY A Warrior as he's proven time and time again. So its doubtful that this kind of talk will go away. It's hard to refrain from speaking about Marg as anything but a warrior.

 

A 5-7 loss to someone doesn't make you the best Welterweight either!

Yet, we hear this bull**** about Margo the King, yet he hasn't beaten everyone in his division. Why is it so offensive to Margarito fans when someone wants to fight him? Isn't he supposed to be the most feared man, who can't find anyone to fight him???

 

Do you really think people find it offensive that Paul wants to fight Marg? Who is saying this? At this Point Marg is King although Paul has got his card in his back pocket. Marg beat Cotto and no one can deny that Cotto was the KING prior to Marg beating him a couple of weeks ago. So "the man" Beat "the man" which makes him the "The New man". Makes sense, right.

Given that Marg and Paul have history...it's logical that they'd want to square off again given the closeness of the bout...even though Paul won, it was still close and competitive where marg began to come on strong.

I don't think anyone is saying they fault Paul for even mentioning Marg...it's just many fans are acting as if this is the only fight that is an option when Marg deserves to make a few calls himself.

 

Who cares what you think Margo "deserves" for his years of hard work getting paid "peanuts"... He's made 5 million over the last two years and has a chance to make 4 more.

He DESERVES to get his ass back in there and fight like a man!

 

Be easy......You dont have to care what I think. I'm just giving my 2 cents as you did yours. You feel marg HAS to fight Paul. Well.....That is your opinion kid. And when you step in the ring there is no question that you are brave and when talking about Marg there is NO questioning whether or not he fights like a man no matter who is in front of him....he comes through 100% of the time. Whether Marg fights like a man vs Paul, Josh or Oscar one thing will be common with any oppoent that faces Marg, they will be in for a tough fight.

 

That's what he's been trying to do. After he beat Margo, he went right after a unification bout with Cintron. Cintron took an unneccesary tuneup fight and got "injured". Team Williams sought to replace him with Judah and he got hurt. They then fought Quintana(another top 10 welter). Williams lost and then knoced him out in an immediate rematch. He then tried to fight Mosley and was turned down. He said he wanted the winner of Cotto/Margarito and Margarito has ignored him. The guy wants to fight the best. However, the best don't neccesarily want to fight him.

 

Don't forget how he tried to fight Cotto right after the Margarito fight. DENIED.

 

I wish someone would fight my boy PW, that man knows how to make a fight exciting.

 

When I was a child...I thought as a child. But now that I'm a man...I put away my child things. Let all do that and be realistic.

Fear = Caution However you want to spin it. Temperament and the level of intellect will determine how a fighter chooses to deal with that fear. You cannot exclude that from the equation because they are grown ass men in a brutal sport...they know how to mask emotions. I'm not saying to the guy is shaking in his boots but I'm saying he knows that the Paul is that guy who did beat him last time and he doesnt want that after comming so far. Last time they fought Williams destroyed his chance of beating Cotto and that pushed his Career back a year.

He has played the role himself many times before...suddenly for the first time he is going to do what he criticized others for and he is going to excuse it by saying...I deserve this, this is business. Just like others before him did.

If Paul Williams was Auturo Gatti Marg would want to fight him next week... But because of that word I defined earlier then he doesn't want Williams until he is absolutely forced to fight him.

 

Exactly. Margorito ain't shaking, but he knows EXACTLY what can happen next time. He knows it's more than just "starting earlier". And he isn't willing to risk a dangerous fight that would set him back from a huge payday. He would rather let his fans make excuses for him and hope to God someone else takes care of Paul and put him out of the spotlight. What the **** is that?
