i mean aside from comparing Paul Williams to margarito or coto or anyone

the fact of the matter is

He was the first man to take down "the most avoided man in the sport"
and his only loss he came back to avenge in about 90 seconds

whats not to like & why not give him his respect & credit

Williams appears to be one of those fighter's that is under and over rated by most people on here.

I like him. He's a good fighter with good potential. He does have some flaws though. The main one being that he throws lot's of punches with no real intent. A bit like Calzaghe but Williams appears to get hit more.

I think alot of people are against him because he was being touted as a future Hearns and being called the most avoided man in the welter division but after his Margo and Quintana performances he didn't look so hot, which i can kind of agree with.

Margo did start of slow and came on strong at the end. It's not Williams' fault Margo started out slow. It was Margo's fault and he rightly lost. However, if Margo starts out faster like he has done in his three fights since then there might be a different outcome.

As for the Quintana fights, well KOing a guy who beat you last time out in one round is very impressive, but, it doesn't fully erase the memory of Williams getting out boxed for large part's of a twelve round fight a few months prior. Well done to Williams for cathing Quintana and knocking him out but if he hadn't it would have been interesting to see how much Williams had improved since the last fight.

Like i say, i like him and he does have potential. Would love to see him fight Margo/Clottey next and unify the welter division. I can see him beating most at light middle aswell although a Santos fight would be very interesting.

I dont discredit him, he just got caught with his pants down and underestimated quintana in the first fight. He actually trained and didnt look past him in the second fight and took care of business. When Paul comes to fight he is still a huge problem for anyone at welterweight, its just that Quintana showed that he is definitely beatable, just like every other fighter.

People discredit or try to discredit Paul because they are Margarito fans scared of the truth. The truth is that Paul williams has the medicine for Margarito and will take his belts should they meet again.

He needs to settle the score with Quintana bottom line .Funny how PW supporters say that he had an off night but what about Quintana? It looked like to me that Carlos had an off night the 2nd fight.either way he is 1-1 against the kid and it took him 13 rds to beat him plus he needs to stop yapping at he mouth so much and fight Clottey,Margo(again),Cotto and Berto to be called the best welter.Maybe his mouth piece reminds people of Floyds Mouth piece ........alot of talk but no show.BTW i love PWilliams style and boxing skills but he just needs to handle his buisness in the ring and get some more elite names on his resume cause he really hasnt fought nobody either(besides Margo and Quintana)

If Quintana beat Margarito 1 year ago...and if Quintana held the most recent victory in his bouts with Williams, we would all have forgot about Paul Williams already...that however is not how it went down.

...but since this is reality and not an alternate universe, Quintana is the one who doesn't factor into the equation at this point.

If PW has to settle things with Quintana

Because Margarito is older and he should cash in with his big win over Cotto. He has time to make up time since people ducked him his whole career. :good

I agree. Despite what people are saying now everyone was talking **** about Marg before the Cotto fight. He was gonna get exposed, remember? I don't think people are hating on Williams but we saw his limitations in first Quintana fight (mental or not) so people are just more sober about him. We saw Marg's limitation in Williams fight. I think a fight between the two would be the coolest thing right now as I enjoyed the first one probably the most of all the fights that year.
