Why Do So Many Discredit Paul Williams

It's not a case of "ducking", these days anything happens people just instantly label it "ducking" without going deep into the situation. As said and I'm sure you know, Cotto wasn't ready back then, Mosley passed on the offer to fight Floyd to clear the way for DLH and Margarito refused to cancel his fight with Gomez to fight Floyd. All three guys had their reasons so I wouldn't really consider those "ducking", same case with Floyd and Margarito, it's basically having better options than Margarito for Floyd than ducking to be honest. If Mayweather had 0 options and passed on fighting Margarito then sure I would say he ducked him.

 

Oscar was never going to fight him, only Cotto. Oscar is almost done with Manny now, what makes you think Margarito is going to bring him more money that Pac-Man?

Margarito should tell his management he is fighting Paul Williams and they need to get the fight done, period. It is the biggest fight he can get made and it is for the WW championship.

 

DLH is not interested so this is the biggest monet fight he can get, and he still don't want it.

What options does Margarito have now, not to fight Paul? Both of them have nothing lined up. Both of them are WW belt holders. Clottey is hurt, Judah is cut, and Berto is raw and irrelevant right now.

 

So Margarito has more options and he aint ducking Williams just looking for bigger money. I get that but they act like he is ducking Williams but he fought him already. Also act like he is afraid of him and if that was the case he wouldnt have fought him.

 

Margarito doesnt realize that and the Pacquiao fight aint official yet. :rofl

 

Yeah he fought him already and lost, that is the big thing. He must be afraid of him if he never wanted to spar with him, didn't want the first fight with him, and now that he beat Cotto and has a belt, he still doesn't want to avenge his most recent loss.

 

That's all bull****, those guys don't fear each other, they weren't going to pick up BOXING if they were going there to run scared from one another, this is a business as much as it's a sport, there's money to be made and you make the fights that bring you the most.

The case of Williams/Margarito is a bit different, Margarito's team want to get Margarito some good decent fights to make some good money before putting him in a dangerous 50/50 type of fight against Williams. It's hardly fear, just smart business decisions basically, that fight will happen regardless.

 

that just because of margo beat cotto, those guys minds change like titles in ww divsion.all paul has to do is is beat him again.margo start slow is crap, he fights at the same high pace, it just after mid way through the fight most guys are tired and margo is starting to catch up with them.

a guy like paul will not get tired and margo will always have to play catch up with him if he cant stop him.

pw came in over weight in his 1st fight with carlos and he made mistakes, in the 2nd fight he was better prepaired and motivated and in better shape and you see what happend.

it will be back n 4th with margo fans a pw fans, until they fight again.margo loses another ud to him then they cant say ****.

 

Its not that easy Williams side has to agree to terms as well at this point its uncertain if both sides can sit at a table a do whats right ..This is whats really holding up this fight ..Considering how Antonio obliged Paul with his mandatory im certain Margarito would fight him again hell he fought Santos twice ,Cintron twice most likly Clotty again maybe even Cotto..It all depends on Arum and Haymon ..

Williams in the meantime should give Quintana a chance at redemption !:bbb

 

If he's not afraid, he still knows it looks bad...which is about as bad to a good segment of Mexican fight fans.

 

If he doesnt fight Williams after Clottey and Mosley(I hope) then you can say that. Until then he is calling the shots.

 

Margarito doesn't make his own decisions, it's his team that make it for him and they know that putting him against a fight like Williams after all the attention he's getting from Cotto could be throwing everything out the window. They want to make some money out of this attention and hype before putting on the Williams match, it's hardly fear, just requires patience.

Margarito has already been in some tough fights recently, 1 easy fight before a major one should be accepted and understood. He's a human being after all, can't go for another vicious training camp for every single fight, it will just take a lot out of him too soon.

 

I agree, let him make his money then fight Williams. Mayweather made his money and didnt fight the most dangerous guys out there. So thats why I respect Margarito more.
