He is a convicted ****** and bit off a chunk of Holyfields ear!

But his style made fights exciting and could KO anyone with 1 punch, he is the youngest heavyweight champ and a legend off the sport.

what are your thoughts of him?

His combination of physicality and skillset is unrivalled at the weight.

But mentally, he's not up to the job.

The contradiction is where the fascination lies.

I got sick of him years ago, but he got me into boxing because of a certain mystique he carried.

And I got the post-Holyfield shot version.

Most vicious heavyweight in history, he was knocking everyone out they put infront of him, during Tyson's prime in the 80s he was unstoppable, unfortunate his personal problems got the better of him, he had a lot of distractions.

Think about it though, if it was any other sportsman the second you heard ****** you will automatically hate him, but with Tyson its different.

In his prime he was the best heavyweight fighter I ever saw 'live', simple as that.

No doubt that Holmes, Ali, Lewis, Holyfield are all above him on an ATG list but of those I'd only pick prime Ali to beat prime Tyson....and even then it wouldn't be easy.

He was his own worst enemy though, and his 2nd worst enemy was Don King, 3rd worst was Robin Givens, 4th worst Desiree Washington. That's a hell of a list of enemies to overcome.

    To put it simple.

Tyson was unique, unpredictable and just a beast in the ring.
Never going to be another Mike Tyson in boxing, such a special individual.

In all sports, people love the flawed genius.

Tyson is the ultimate flawed genius.

He's a one off character, so many funny stories, quotes, moments. And he beat the **** out of people, which appeals to men, we are all impressed by a genuine borderline psycho hardman.

One of the most complex characters you could ever dream up. So much unrealized potential. Everything....
