Cotto is a lot more complete than Williams and boasts a resume far above Williams. That's why they give him a pass.

Or if we were in 1963, you'd have idiots saying "DOUG JONES NEARLY BEAT CLAY, THIS GUY IS NOTHING!!!" and "CARLOS MONZON WILL NEVER BE ELITE!!!.

Good post. What you must remember is the people who say these things are the same people who over hype fighters in the first place.
