Puerto Ricans don't consider themselves Americans do they? They never fly the flag. On Wikipedia and boxrec they've got his country/nationality as Puerto Rican.

It's a bit of a stretch to try and claim them.

 

Puerto Rican? Sure it's owned by America but it isn't a state. Therefore Cotto isn't from the USA. The only reasons why Americans say he is, is so they can pretend to have more boxers high up on the current p4p list

Nobody in the US actually considers Puerto Ricans to be Americans (though they are US citizens). The only time I've ever even heard that **** is on this very forum.
