Froch should have been disqualified. I counted 7 warnings for rabbit punching, and a bunch of other fouls the ref ignored. If I had my way Team Dirrell would protest that fight, and just say **** the tournament, and demand that the WBC order an immediate rematch. The blatant body slam alone was just cause for disqualification.
He was pretty neverous in the 1st half (looked scared if you ask me) and has balance issues anyway. BTW, the rulebook says any fighter who throws himself to the canvas should get an 8 count. Obviously slipping, being pushed down and **** like that is a different thing, but if you fall into your punches or fall down as you move away quicky without balance, you should get a count no matter how ridiculous may it sound. But it's a fair rule. Fight, or if you move away, don't go down. The best thing would've been an early count for Dirrell, because he would've become pissed like after the point decuction when he started to fight. Don't get me wrong, he won on my card anyway, be he should've started to be more agressive sooner to convince the judges. Therefore an early count or point deduction would've benefited him IMO.
Because now British fighters are allowed to bodyslam in England going in against foreign fighters. All credit to Ricky Hatton and co.
Yea i know huh, weak enough to rock Froch, the "Ironman" . Glad Froch will never have to read that comment, he'd have to come to terms that he was rocked by a weak man.
I'm not sure why he did that FOUR times:huh I also can't work out why such a talented boxer should resort to running and holding thus losing the decision:huh
As usual you're talking bollocks. Froch wasn't warned for rabbit punches anywhere near seven times, and on the occasions he was warned it was in response to Ruiz-Bolt ducking too low which is also against the rules
He slipped a bunch of times. His feet are fast but his footwork is so-so, and the mat was probably slippery. Froch's feet are slow and he plants them, so he didn't have the problem. This isn't a "strategy". He's never done this in any other fight.
Hey, it's not just in England. Cotto did it to Clottey. And Solis did it to Cruz (and got deducted a point for it).
