I'm no fan of Floyd. He's a ****ing actor outside the ring who has talked so much **** in his time. But, he is a master of his craft I have to admit.

 

Sadly he makes more money because of it. Hate sells

 

Pretty much it's been said in a 3p thread.

FM is a top p4p fighter who wouldn't fight Pacman for some reason - an opponent where FM would be favored.
He has a very boring defensive style and is an arrogant tool of a person.

Other than that he's a very likeable guy

 

Floyd has only himself to blame for the way people despise him & call him just a talented wannabee. He'll never be the ATG superstar he already he dreams he is.
He blatantly ducked Paquaio for years, ducked Margarito & fought Baldomir instead for less $$$ Though he always claimed he's only in it for the $$$$$$$.
He refuses to fight outside of his hometown Las Vegas where. he knows he'll always have the officials in his pocket. Do you honestly think Canelo has a prayer of winning a decision over Floyd in Vegas????? If he knocked him down 5 times in the fight they's screw him out of it.
Hell if he'd been blessed with the cojones & heart of an ATG to go along with the talents he possesses. Taken on all comers, Even if he lost a couple of times his resume would still be better that it is today Today Floyd is just a very talented wammabee with the cojones of a gnat

 

^^Calling Floyd a talented "wannabee" makes no sense to me.

He took on Baldomir because he was the lineal Welterweight champion, initially the showdown with Judah was supposed to be the superfight but Zab had lost his belts to Carlos prior to fighting FLoyd. Than Floyd took on Baldomir and wiped the floor with him.

It's been very difficult since around that time for any of Arum's guys to get a shot with FLoyd. It's not that Floyd was "ducking" anyone in particular, he just doesn't do business/promotions with Top Rank.

So it made sense that right after the Baldomir fight he took on the biggest cashcow in the sport in De La Hoya, not Margarito who really didn't have a big name or huge following outside of hardcore boxing fans.

Than the dude came back once every year or 2 and kept fighting top P4P guys for the last 5 years, including some very respectable scalps in an undefeated Ricky and a top 3 P4P guy in JMM who had been calling him out for quite some time.

I don't get this cherrypicking nonsense attached to Mayweather, he only takes on top-tier fighters. He never takes a tune up fight, even though it's well within his right after taking these year long layoffs. And now he's fighting another top 10 P4P guy in Saul who'll probably be a SMW within the next 2 years.

It's funny he can wipe the floor with Alvarez and go up to 160 and beat Martinez for his lineal championship and people will still find a way to attack the guy.

 

As for the wife beating points, that can't be refuted obviously. Boxers aren't nice guys for the most part, just look at some of the greatest fighters who ever lived and their antics outside of the ring. If you think FLoyd is bad, you should watch some documentaries of the great Ray Robinson outside of the ring. He beat on women and children like it was going out of style. One of my favorite fighters of all time, Mike Tyson, is a known felon and convicted ******. Doesn't change my perspective of what he did inside the ring, especially in the 80's.

these are combat fighters, I don't expect them to be nice people outside of the ring. Doesn't excuse them whatsoever, but it comes with the territory when speaking about fighters.

b)doesn't promote himself like trash in the way Broner does

It's really not that phucking difficult. 99% of casual viewers who tune into watch boxing do so because they want to see Floyd get beaten. It's not because they want to watch his amazing skills.
