Why does Khan always try to pay his opponent peanuts?

So you think Bradley and Peterson were made good offers, but then go ahead and list them anyway? :huh

I don't know what the exact offer was for McCloskey, but in my opinion, he was a Euro level fighter who nobody had even heard of prior to him being named as an opponent. The fact that he even got the shot, was a privelage for him. Khan offering him the low-end of the deal, was reasonable.

And I can't remember what the deal was with Maidana when they were struggling to get the fight made, but a 55-45 split in the end was more than reasonable. And now with Judah, like I and others have already said, he's lucky to be even getting 60-40!

The fact is, many of these guys know full well that fights with Khan bring them more money than against anyone else.

I know it does look suspicious when it happens almost every fight but I don't think the blame falls entirely on Khan or his management. Obviously they drive a hard bargain. But the opponents keep acting like good 6 figure sums are insulting to them, really Khan isn't that much of a cash cow, you can't expect multi-million dollar purses fighting him. His ppv's have not been big sucesses and while he draws a good (but recently not sell out) crowd over here his fights in America have been modestly attended. The money just ain't there.

I think there is a few reason why khans recent fight negogiaitons havent gone well:

    -His team are slightly greedy
-But the bigger reason why i feel is the opponent wants an absolute huge payday because they are fighting khan

no he didn't. HBO promised 1.3mil to Bradley and Alexander after they fought, why the **** would he fight Khan for 1.3 when he can fight someone else for 1.3mil and then fight Khan next for even more money.

Devon Alexander is getting paid 1.3 mil to fight lucas matthyse. The khan fight is worth more than 1.3 mil why would Bradley fight him for that.

Exactly. is khan not the one offering bradley a ridiculously good deal to make that fight happen? Doesn't sound like greed to me. Fact is hes giving fighters career pay days. Yea some of those are lower than the opponent wants but khan is the draw.

And cesare-borgia my opinion of you has gone down the toilet. I thought you better than that.

Khan thinks he's superstar already for one legitimate title defense, he's on his way to pulling a Mayweather but at least Mayweather achieved greatness before being a greedy ****.

:patsch yes most of those fights got made, but they didn't get made without those fighters complaining or Khan complaining about the money. If that's how he negotiates, I guess that's ok, but Maidana fight didn't happen sooner because of it and got made in the end because they threatened to strip his belt.

McCloskey stopped negotiating with them and then Khan finally came back because he had no other options except Peterson.

Judah isn't gettin 50/50. Khan is keeping all of the UK money and Judah is asking for just 50/50 of the american money

    :patsch...

Why has it got anything to do with Manny in the first place?

    Anyway.

From what I have seen from many interviews and pre fight build up talks, Khan takes no part in the negotiations. Khan isn't his own manager, its up to Khans team and Golden Boy to sweeten the deals for both sides. I don't see why Khan is being blamed here. Khans Team and GB are giving people more then they usually make but they are all asking for more then they have made in all their past fights...

I'm listing everybody who's had tried to negotiate with Khan and complained about the money and Bradley and Peterson fit that bill whether I agree with them or not. It still helps prove to my point that this is a strange trend that is going on.

I agree, really, none of those opponents deserve 50/50 or more, but I'm sure they deserved more than whatever Khan was offering. I don't know the exact numbers though myself, but he has 4 other guys saying the same thing he is.

I thought it was Khan's opponent's at first and then a coincidence that a few of them kept over pricing. Then after a while I just had to realize that maybe Khan or his people are the problem.

I agree with you that Khan is a bigger draw than them, but I think his drawing power is overrated and mostly by himself.
Maybe the way I phrased my question was wrong?

Maybe I should have asked is why does Khan struggle to settle on the right price with his opponents?
