Why does Manny refuse to face Cotto without a catchweight involved?

Biggest reason I think is probably the gloves. 10 oz gloves for one. Both because it would limit Pac's punching power but probably a bigger factor is that cotto's 2 guard is much better with the wider bigger gloves.

But also to be frank I think Pac's team probably knows that Cotto at 154 is a different and perhaps harder fight for them then Cotto at welter weight. Cotto now has a real world class trainer (something he's never previously had) and he is not coming off a devastating OK loss. Which as opposed to last time when he had recent hired his drinking buddy in favour of his uncle and had lost a devastating beat down to Margo. He's avenged Margo, has a real trainer and has had time to settle into a higher wt. Add all that to the fact that at 154 lbs Pac would be wearing 10 oz gloves and I can see why team pac would want feel their are new and real risks in this fight.

All that being said they'll probably find Cotto harder to deal with this time as opposed to last time. Cotto is know his own boss and he's already made millions fighting Pac, Margo and May. He'll have more freedom to do what he wants.

But who knows he might figure **** it I want another crack at this chump if he wants to fight on the moon we'll deal. Time will tell.
