Why does size matter?

It sure does, just ask my wife...........

But seriously in these hypothetical matchups more thought needs to go into the constraints of the fight.

E.g. Hagler versus Kovalev. Hagler stayed at 160. If they fought would it be at 175 or 168? How much time would Hagler get to add on 15 pounds or would we assume this was a version of Hagler in an alternate universe that did move up in weight and was happy at 175?

Straight up, middle weight Hagler at 160 probably receives his first KO loss against Kovalev at 175. Size (weight divisions) matter. But considering other constraints the story may change.

Why would Tyson need to try and boil down to Cruiserweight when he beat 230lb + fighters throughout his career??

Are you asking what the size difference is between a 220 pound man and a 217 pound man?

you cant tell the difference in the ring kid because both guys are around the same weight in the ring! on the night. both hitting each other at 220lb. thats right heavyweight blows.

all you can say is YOU "think" Tyson couldn't get down to 200. he dosnt have to. the science is there for the biggest guys to comfortably make an artificially low weight the moment they officially weigh in.

nobody is boiling down. those days are over! its still a 220 guy. they follow a programme like the rest of them. the same one that comfortably rehydrated chavez jnr and canilo alverez to 180lb all those times and every other pro on the planet.

its funny a 190lb heavyweight from years ago gets called a cruiser. but a 168 LHW from years ago cant be called a super middle!

and a 220 rehydrated cruiser is not allowed to be called a HW..

oh yes. that makes so much sense!!

None of what you say makes sense.

The difference between 220 and 217 is 3 pounds.

Tyson could not make a 200 pound weigh in.

Marciano and Dempsey would be Cruiserweights today.

Charles would be a LHW today.

Ffs choklab, if you are so hung up on size, get down the gym and run a test400, deca and dbol cycle and join the big boys.

Today, with 24 hours he would make it as comfortably as all pro fighters in the lower divisions do today. then he would hydrate a mere 16-17lb back on and be the same fighter. I dont think you understand how it works. It's not boiling down anymore. There is a whole science to making the biggest fighters scale a low weight just for a moment. They're still big guys. It's simply hydrated off for that moment.

with 24 hours 94% of all ATG heavyweights champions would be cruiserweights too! That's why the word cruiserweight should be redefined. It's now a type of heavyweight that can be as big as Mike Tyson. It's time to call them heavyweight in line with Amatuer boxing and get rid of that crazy word.

 Charles wasn't even a LHW that long when he was fighting!

And how the hell do you know Mike Tyson weighed 220lb in the ring when he weighed that at the weigh-in.......

I know he was closer to it than a hydrated cruiser is to 200 on the night.

How do you know? Did you personally weigh Tyson inside the ring on fight night?

You disagree that the vast majority of Great heavyweights are within the weight of a modern hydrated cruiserweight on the night?
