People dismissing him fighting Joshua in April, Whyte in his first fight with Joshua rocked him and we all know Whyte wasn't 100 % in that fight with his shoulder. Whyte IMO would give Wilder & Fury both good fights Whyte also knocked down Parker, something AJ couldn't do. Whyte vs Chisora was a fantastic fight. Obviously people want to see AJ v Wilder or Fury, but lets not be dismissive of Whyte, he is a very good heavyweight boxer and he will cause Joshua problems..more so than Povetkin did IMO.
He got gifts against Parker and Chisora and he has a big mouth. If didn't tark all dat rubbish maybe people would have more respect for him. He talks about money and how every fighter should fight him fir peanuts but he will only fight Chisora again if its ppv lol. Pathetic
Because after hurting AJ, he got absolutely battered from pillar to post and then totally wiped from his senses. Lest we forget, this was when AJ was a lot more reckless than he is now Parker also knocked down Whyte, something he couldn't do to AJ. Whyte-Chisora was a lot of fun - what's your point? He was lucky to get a decision against a faded version of Chisora. Povetkin also rocked AJ and was - in most people's eyes - winning the fight. I'll be surprised if Whyte does as well as Povetkin did even at Povetkin's 39 years of age.
He’s on a good run but at the end of the day is never going to be world champion. Got lucky against Chisora, was outclassed by a green AJ, fought dirty to scrape a win against Parker and was close to being knocked out. Browne was a spectacular KO but Browne was KO’d in sparring in the build up and was almost knocked out by a journeyman in his next fight. Perspective. He’s improved his fitness and can box to a game plan better than he used to but he still has stamina issues and is still limited by his talent, ultimately. He’ll beat A shopworn Chisora and then get wiped out by AJ. Fury would box his ears off and Wilder would knock him out.
Calling out David Haye after his second loss to Tony Bellew was an absolute ***** move. Whyte is a bully. Would love Usyk to chop him down.
I think he has to play the roadman arrogant type as it is his schtick as they say. Though to his credit he was humble after the Parker fight. He is just so lucky that AJ wants to fight him again otherwise he would be irrelevant. Living off that 1 punch in the 2nd round, a round he still got battered in. Whyte is better now but remember AJ is far better then when he fought Whyte. I think he takes Whyte out early.
I'll tell you how. "This is the guy, no one wants to fight. Wilder LITERALLY ran a mile to get from him" "He come on leaps and bounds since then. Look at the destruction of Browne. No one else has done that to Browne" "It's personal between those two. They don't like each other. They're 1-1 at the moment so this is the real decider" And other such nonsense. One or two of the 'experts' will pick him to "shock the world" and that'll be that. Plenty of fans will "just have a feeling that Whyte will cause the upset". Rinse and repeat with the next guy.
Why can't he be world champion? He beat Parker who at one point was world champion, Wilder didn't fancy the fight against him for good money. I think Whyte is a fighter getting better all the time and in the top 5 HW in the world .
Whyte has started to grow on me. The guy still talks crap but his willingness to fight anyone and his determination to get to the top whilst being a limited fighter (Who is getting better) has earned some respect off myself. Can't see him ever been any different to a chisora type tho.
Because better fighters than Parker - and Whyte - are world champions I think we've all seen in the Wilder-AJ 'talks' that the offers either side are more convoluted than just being good money and little else. Whyte has improved but has absolutely hit his ceiling as a fighter. He's is primarily a slugger who has improved his discipline somewhat but is still defensively lacking.
He might be top 5 domestically although that’s not cut and dry with Joyce, H Fury, Gorman, Dubois etc not the world though.
I will never understand how this Whyte hype started, or why. On the eyetest, he is average at best. Then you go to his resume, no shame in losing to AJ, but rocking him once and being battered around the ring for the rest of the fight isn't exactly something to gloat about. Bacurin in a comeback, Dave Allen, then loses to Chisora and gets a gift, Tann, Helenius who only turned up for 3 rounds, Browne was so out of shape he could barely move, then needs a headbutt to get past average Parker. What are we supposed to be praising exactly?
