Why doesn't Lennox have universal approval ?

Who is saying he should have fought on for eternity? He was far from Shot, he himself said that he was fighting at the best phase of his career, looking at his fights i could tell he had fully matured as a boxer in terms of skill, ring intelligence, knowing when to clinch, defend and attack. I believe he had 1-2 more years to give to Boxing as a fighter. Most of the fighters he beat were obviously either way below him in quality and his most serious challengers were washed up which he took full advantage off.

If one more fight with Vitali would have made him a babbling idiot then that is saying something. Boxing ****ysts and observers raise question marks over him on this issue for a reason.

Irrespective, doesn't change the idiocy of the statement just like his recent statement that Floyd is better than Ali.

I have seen so many interviews, commentaries of Holyfield and Tyson where they talk so passionately about their encounter. Tyson sometimes even get's agitated and upset when questioned in detail about the Holyfield Loss and Holyfield also responds in kind when responding to Dirty fighting allegations.

But the funny thing is both these guys especially Tyson don't even bother to defend themselves or even feel bother about their Losses to Lewis. It's like "Yeah we lost to him, but we couldn't care less anyways". Just an observation.

No they don't. Klitchko fanboys, and Lewis haters do. Unfortunately for you those people don't count in the slightest. Guys involved in boxing ALWAYS respect a fighters decision to retire.

It wasn't one more fight with Vitali, it was one more fight with Vitali, then it was mentioned he should fight Sanders, and God knows who else. You might believe he had 1-2 more years left in him but obviously he didn't feel there was enough motivation to train for another two years, and if you think he wasn't declining in performance I invite you to rewatch his fight with Tyson. He was clearly a much better boxer in that match than he was in the Vitali fight even a novice fan of the sport should be able to see that.

I'm not sure if either of these statements are idiotic.

Floyd technically is better than Ali, he just never showed the same heart and guts Ali did or the willingness to fight anyone at any time.

And Lewis, H2H at his best is a monster and could be the best or close to the best ever from that perspective.

I may or may not agree with these statements, but they're hardly idiotic.

How can you expect Lewis to put on the same show compared to the Tyson fight? He claims in many interviews that he trained the hardest if his career for the Tyson fight and only took that Vitali fight on short notice of 10-12 days. Obviously his training and conditioning impacted his show against Vitali but it doesn't mean he was shot. He still had all the tools he needed to be successful.

    You're kidding right?

Have you actually watched his career?

He was slower than molasses in his fight with Vitali, couldn't land his over hand right if his life depended upon it and the only reason he won was because he turned it into a dog fight.

I personally think Lewis takes Vitali in the rematch..but come on man..there was no reason for that fight to have not been made..Lewis wouldve stuck around had the Tyson rematch been made

Believe me, I too wish it were made, and perhaps not many would believe me, but I really wouldn't have cared who won. I'm admittedly a Lewis fan, but to be honest I just enjoy watching a good fight. I would go so far as to say, I would sooner see one of my favourite fighters lose or get KO'd in a very entertaining fight, than I would to have him win, in a very boring defensive manner.

    But that's me.

As to your point, hard to argue it really, I know Lewis was hoping for another easy payday against Tyson, and only took a fight with Kirk Johnson because it wasn't available, and when that fight fell through Vitali was next in line. If Vitali himself is to be believed, the fight wasn't made because Lewis' mom was dead set against him fighting anymore.

I don't know whether that is true or false, but seeing as both his mum and his wife are named Violet ( Chang in the wife's case ) it might well have been one of them.

"The injury stopped me in the fight against Lennox. He promised me we would fight again. He called me to London, just me and him. His mum was there. We talked for 30 minutes, while his mum scanned me up and down. I flew back to Germany. He rang me and said ‘Vitali, I’m not going to fight you’. His mum made the decision. Then he retired.” “I’ve always wanted to fight Lennox again – he was the undisputed champion - but the decision was made for me. It was my biggest fight" Vitali in an interview with Gareth Davies .

I have. Lewis's poor performance against Vitali was because he didn't take the fight seriously and his training, conditioning wasn't the best either. You don't become shot in 1 year.

I think this Lewis trained the hardest means he used better or
    much more effective PED program.

Lewis' mum is the biggest and most important mind in the boxing history.
She knows better a fighter's potential than the fighter.
