Why don't you support "the man"

Without resorting to the usual mundine bashing that is prevalent in the aussie section can someone break down why he gets so much **** from his countrymen?

Is Australia like Britain in building people up to knock them down publicly or is it just the stuff he says that irks you, I understand the arguments about fighting guys like falliga but to be fair the geale fight was exciting and a great watch and he's proved no-one in Australia beats him. Would you all support him when he goes for another big fight on the world stage?

He promises the world and delivers a suburb.
To be fair to boxing fans here in Aus he has been given enough opportunity to live up to his promises and potential and has never appeared to reach the levels he professors.

Tall poppy syndrome is attributed to champions who the public embrace on the journey to the top and depart in numbers on failing at the top.
Mundine has never reached the top.....he may, but increasingly it looks unlikely to as he is ageing and his motivation is wanning.

To be fair i'm not australian and i'm a mundine fan I just don't get the blind hatred and can only assume it's from his perceived big mouth and lack of "worthy opposition". I only really posted on the australian forum to talk about mundine and katsidis initially because I thought you boys would have more to say about them than the brits etc. However the last few weeks especially every time anything positive is posted about mundine it just deteriorates into insulting him.

To be honest I'm not a huge fan of forums etc but none of my mates are boxing fans so I came on here to chat about boxing etc, unfortunately it seems 2 of my favourite fighters evoke lots of abuse whenever mentioned (calzaghe being the other)

For reference 20a87 Mundine has made comments in the past which would be like say Vinnie Jones comparing himself to George Best and not doing a thing to prove it.

For the most past people on here are just sick and tired of him.

 

just because you dont post threads doesnt mean you can carry on with the same **** as everyone else. its ****ing boring mate.

 

Its the eighth wonder of the world 20a87 as to why so much effort is put in to hate posts.....I think they are all closet huggers.....especially Marcus :hi:....when Mundine fights on the big stage again they will be watching in the pubs in dark sunnies and hats cheering for the man while on ESB they bag him :yep
