Yes but even Floyd has stated that he thinks it's ridiculous that the WBC has allowed him to keep the belt without fighting above a 147 lb contracted weight since Canelo. He's not a JMW. Was Roy Jones a HW after he won a belt from Ruiz after weighing in at 193 and then moved back down to LHW? :think

Let's wait for this to happen in time. Both of them are waiting for official word on what Froch plans to do. If you put contracts in front of both Ward and GGG to fight either one another or Carl they'd both sign the Froch one without thinking twice. Carl is the money man at 168.

Because Mayweather isn't interested to move up to Middleweight this late in his career to fight an unknown who's biggest win is Rubio.

I think Froch is going to retire. Highly doubt he has any interest or desire to carry on. He has been active at least twice(if not more) every year his entire career, this long lay-off pretty much says he's not interested anymore.

I agree completely. I'd be very surprised if he fights again. But I can understand neither Ward nor GGG making a fight with one another until it's official. Froch is so much bigger than any other fight out there for either guy at 168.

I wouldn't mind him fighting Froch either....IF Froch is still game.

But I don't like when fighters are leaning towards retiring and then get in the ring with a premiere fighter because sometimes you don't get the best from them and its a wasted bout.

Oscar fought Hopkins FFS. Floyd if he had the ***** would put this fight together but its only unrealistic because Floyd doesn't take on true challenges unless GGG is willing to chase him for 6 years like Pac did and the media keeps on it forcing Floyd into a wall. But the weight diffference is all the excuses he needs to avoid it and of course on the brink of retiring.
Oscar was a real warrior, he'd put himself in harms way daring to be great, something Floyd has never done. Instead he takes safe fights with guys he's the glaring favorite against that make him LOOK great. Smart but cowardly.

Duran was short but stocky, he put on weight easy and could be effective because he carried some power with him. Floyd doesn't even carry power up to 147.

But this fight isn't entirely unrealistic. Floyd fighting Golovkin won't satisfy his haters, trust me.

It boils down to Duran being one if the top 5 fighters of all time, and Mayweather is not quite at that level for a variety of reasons, many of which are money related, or related to keeping his "0" in tact.

Agreed. I bet Ward wants this badly too but isn't going to get it. To be fair, GGG deserves this fight more than Ward despite Ward's win over GGG. Ward's recent problems with promotion/management(No disrespect to Dan Goossen and may he rest in peace) hasn't done him any justice and he simply dried off because of it. It doesn't look like he's making any progress either with his recent promotional change. GGG on the other hand, despite his poor resume, has been active at the very least.

Fully agree. I'd rather not see a fight at all than see it because one fighter simply wants to get the payday and isn't interested. It's not like GGG will offer Froch any serious payday anyway. Definitely not serious enough to get him interested again, that's for sure.

Ward has had a rough shake. His ego has had something to do with it but he's earned more in the ring than he's gotten at this point. Hopefully after Smith he'll clean out the rest of the SMWs (DeGale, Dirrell, Groves, Stieglitz (sic?))he hasn't fought yet and then get a big money fight with GGG or Kovalev once it's been built up more by late 2016 or early 2017.
