Why has Manny experienced such a sharp physical decline, post 2009/10?

Probably a combination of age-related decline and bad stylistic match ups for his last three fights. And not even Canelo knocked down Shane, so he still has the power/speed.

Manny didn't do as good in that fight as people make it out to be Margarito hit him 229 times and won 2-3 rounds convincingly, Manny was surprisingly getting out jabbed early in the fight, fighting a fighter who had a horrible cut majority of the fight, took more than enough of Margarito's signature uppercuts, nearly got put on his ass from vicious body shots, then got on his bicycle abandoned his strategy, and decided to flurry and pot shot to victory.

That fight was a war, and far from utter domination that people nearly make it out to be, in rounds 9, 10, 11 Manny was fighting for his life in that ring. After the fight when they said he was in the fetal position for 3 days, I knew that fight ruined Manny, and would affect his mentality going forth as a fighter

Margarito slowly devoured portions of Manny's soul in that ring.

This, I don't understand the logic of taking that fight anyway, Margarito was disgraced and a unranked paper champ, and also probably 20-25 pounds heavy than Manny, his decline clearly started after this fight and clearly what this thread should be about

Manny bacame a counter puncher after that fight for a reason:deal

Agreed, plus he only spends about 16 to 20 weeks per year in the gym.

Most other fighters spend much more time in the gym even when not in training (camp).

Why? lets see in the last 5 years he has had 12 fights against pretty solid opposition, if you think about it he emerged back in 2003 with his big win over Barrera its now 2012 thats 9 years that went by in the blink of an eye.
This is expected as nobody in this sport can beat father time.

Don't get your panties in a wad. If you don't like how he forms his opinions, then don't read them. Honestly, he based his opinion on observation and inference, while you are just using facts to make excuses.

    As for the question:

There are several factors that play into it in my opinion:
    1) He's a couple of years older (not much older, but a couple of years)
    2) He's faced fighters that are bad for his style
    3) The Marquez fight really took a toll on his confidence
    4) He is not receiving the same training (PEDS?)

emmanuel looking bad has lots to do with the fact that his recent string of opponents weren't victims of clever matchmaking

This video was posted almost a year ago. People whined, cried, and denied its message wanting to believe he really made some "improvements". I guess people still want to ignore this video.

I wouldn't call it sharp, I'd call it gradual. As he ages and as he moves up in weight, his speed and explosiveness have receded a bit. The way he looks has more to do with the opponents he's faced, IMO. A tentative Mosley hellbent on using his footspeed for defensive lateral movement, a motivated Marquez using picture-perfect setups from their previous fights, and another tentative fighter in Bradley who could circle out but could not do so in range to establish an offensive.

Pacman has never fought a fighter that moves and gives angles. It is as simple as that. Most of his fights wee against fighters who stayed in front of him like a punching bag to be hit. This is not my opinion, this is factual go check for yourselves. The issue on him being on PED's, well he has never been caught, so we can't officially say he is or was on it but yes, his so called power and stamina has disappeared tremondously. Something is up with him, but you are innocent until proven guilty. Ever since the 1st morales fight when Morales kept on backing him up, pacman couldn't adjust. I have said all along on this site that Pacman can only fight in 1 way which is going forward. He has no inside game at all. If you look at his fights, who did he really fight Marquez, and Morales 6 fights with 2 fighters. The media has portrayed this guy to be a god in boxing, they are not fooling me like how the media tried to hype Bute up. That guy was and will forever be a clown to me. I also all along that Bute was no good. People called me a hater, I am realist and a real boxing fan. I could not favor a fighter but still give him his just do. Pacman beat bradley, but he didn't look good against a guy who came up in weight. Mayweather looked better and he moved up in weight against a bigger guy. Do you see what I am saying when comparing Pacman to Mayweather? I don't even want to see that fight b/c it will be lopsided for Mayweather. If the rumors are true that theer will be a Cotto vs Mayweather 2, i like it, Sergio vs Mayweather, I like it.
