I dont think he is over rated, However he is clearly not the same AA at super middle as he was at middle...

Hes fighting stiffer competition, is all.

You may outbox him, but he's got a chance to knock any smw out with one punch, on top of it all he's got that beard to back his offense up.

His "beard" and "one punch" at SMW is still a question mark in my opinion. He never had Dirrell hurt even though he had two KDs? Counted or not? Dirrell isn't a power puncher but did have a legit KD and perhaps a second uncounted? Taylor? Damaged goods? Some reports have the most damage coming from bouncing his head off the canvas so who knows?

Who should he have beaten, then? Except of Pavlik he wiped out the middleweight division. Nobody wanted to fight him. At SMW he only had 2 fights until now.

AA is not overrated. As said, he has his flaws, he is beatable, but there's a good chance that he catches you with big bombs and then it's game over. Dirrell made a perfect fight, AA is still my favorite to win the Super Six though.

Abraham isn't overrated. He truly is a great fighter. He sure does have his flaws like every fighter. He has the power to KO anyone at SMW and he has en excellent defense. His speed isn't great but not that bad. He managed to land some clean shots on Direll.

He must work on some things if he truly wants to become the best.

    1) He has to have a better work rate. He can't win against slick fighters like Direll and Ward if he doesn't throw more punches.
    2) He has to start to fight from round 1 not wait until mid rounds to start throwing some punches.
    3) He has to adapt to the opponent style. He fought Direll the wrong way that's why he got dominated for most part of the fight. He really predictable, he fights always the same way.
    4) He needs a better stamina so he can throw more punches and be more active.

There are more things to improve as well but those are the basic things he should work before anything else.

Even with all those flaws, he's still a great fighter, no one can deny that.

He is popular, but I don't think he is overrated - we know he is lazy and can be defensive. We know he is not fast or slick. But he is a KO artist with a solid chin - and p4p on of the hardest punchers today.

Who's overrating him? A lot of people picked a shot Taylor to beat him,
the majority of people thought pavlik would beat him at middle.
Most people don't think he will win the super 6 now or even before it started.

There was a poll before the competition started. I'm pretty sure he won it or was at worst second.

Fair enough, I thought I remembered most people backing Kessler before the tournament started.

Kessler and AA were the favorites. No one thought much of the Americans(aside from the Americans) and Froch was getting shitted on.

Arthur Abraham has been seriously over rated for years. I've made at least 100 posts on the subject, and many of those posts included detailed break downs of his resume', and his strengths and weaknesses. At 160 he was never more than a paper titlist with a ridiculously thin resume'. At 168 he's not as good as he was at 160. I still think he can beat Froch due to Carl's defensive deficits.
